I kinda got caught up in the big name managing my home town team, Arbroath (thank **** i now live in California). But when Danny arrived he instantly created a buzz around the town, got bums on seats, and took a team that had bounced from Div2 to 3 and back over the previous 4-5 seasons, all the way to the Scottish Cup 1/4 finals, losing out 3-0 to Rangers, the same Rangers that went to within a goal or two of reaching the EC Final. He only stayed for 2 years, due to ill health, but he gave the whole town a massive lift. He attended Schools to meet with the kids on the school teams, gave advice on how to make it in the game and what goals to aim for. All round great guy, never got to see him play in the flesh, but have watched enough on video/dvd to know how special a player this guy was.
