Am i just be a tight arse winge, i'm not sure. Was very disappointing to Learn that as a Sky customer i'd have to pay not only the £12 per month charge, but a £15 activation fee. Sorry if this is a repeat of a previous post, BT couldnt even tell me what i was getting for my £15: callum: £15 to activate it? Why is there such a ridiculous charge? no other channels you can subscribe to are charging that. Alexis: sorry for the inconvenience Alexis: This is the price sky and bt agreed on callum: my question is, what do i get for £15? callum: seems stupid to me. Alexis: £15 is avtivating it for you and £12 is for the channel callum: i understand that, but what process is involved that merits me paying you £15 to effectively flick a switch so i can get BT sport. Do you see what i am saying? Alexis: yes i do, sorry for the inconvenience callum: I see, so clearly its just a charge you put on. But its not actually for anything... seems to me the £12 you pay shd really cover the activating it. Is it free to change the channel Alexis: sorry these are the prices to get bt sports on sky, unless you are a bt broadband customer Alexis: sorry for the inconvenience +++ May be i am just a moan, bit i had hoped to hire BT sport for 1 month then cancel it (for weekend game). Another question, is there a legit good site i can stream game? I dont have much patience for traipsing round illegal broken streams.
I know of a sneaky way to sign up to a foreign subscription if your interested, I signed up to one last week and now I can watch all the Norwich games!
Yep, well I have found it to be but like most things if you have got a crap broadband speed then your stream will be crap. I'll PM you a guide on signing up.
I have been able to watch PL football for the first time this season on my not very powerful laptop via feed2all. I don't have any of the fancy streaming software installed. I look for the Sportsfeed365.eu link (often Link 4) which utilises JWPlayer. There are usually other links which stream via JWPlayer and usually work ok too. If you use Google Chrome with AdBlock on you don't have to put up with constant intrusion from ads either.
Do I assume your broadband subscription is with Sky? If you're a BT customer all you have to do is 'opt in' online and then you can watch all the games totally free via the BT website in high quality.
Whilst I agree with you that the £15 pound activation fee is stupid I imagine its Sky and not BT who the money goes to, They're frighented of the threat that BT presents to their Sports channels and want to make things difficult for them. I've found BT's service (as a BT Broadband customer) excellent and a real change from having to pay extra money to watch ESPN or Setanta in previous years. They have also improved their offering by making it the same time every week, if a game is early on saturday i know its on BT, otherwise its on sky or not shown. Fenland I think I have heard about the subscription that you are using but didn't want to commit as I hadn't heard any first hand feedback, any chance you could PM me the link too, I'm willing to put down some money to get a better quality of stream. Cheers.
I think you've got your answer pal, the £15 activation fee means people are much more likely to commit for longer.
Sure, it's not just a link, I will send you the same guide on how to do it. It's good quality but like I said to scottish-canary you do need a good connection speed so might be worth checking this is up to scratch first (do an online test). I think the recommendation is around 5 megabits for streaming in HD and anything over 2 megabits for standard.
Have to agree, I'm really enjoying BT's football coverage especially like the full size pitch in the studio where they do the analysis. Danny Baker and Danny Kelly's show Friday evening is a good laugh too, total idiocy but makes me LOL P.S. Sky have every right to be worried, they've had it their own way for years and have been able to charge whatever they like for subscriptions. Let's face it The Premier League IS Sky and if they were to eventually lose half of their football offering to BT and their £Billions they would also in all likelyhood lose half of their subscribers. Don't forget, BT could potentially outbid Sky for PL football next time around they certainly have the cash
I understand its a tactic to get you to subscribe to the channel for longer, and whilst i have also heard great thing abt BT in terms of quality. I rarely get to watch football as it is, (1 year old child not so sypathetic to let me sit through a non-Norwich match) so ideally i'd only pay for game on a pay per view basis. Seems ridiculous in this day n age, where you can pretty much steam brand new movies to your TV the day they come out, that we still have pay month by month for football. I suppose, they make more money the way they do it now.
Fenland, sorry to be a pain but could I request the same information? I have been after something like this for a while.
Sure, I'll send across the same info on how to sign up, I watched the Swansea vs Liverpool match last night on there and it was good quality. I've found streaming direct better than those free streams, they all seem to break up at certain points for me.
Bt Sport is good when it works but connectivity is a bit hit and miss and if I get mucked about on Saturday I will be livid.
I went to watch a bit of the Manure game on Saturday and it was asking for Mum's birthplace amongst other things and wouldn't let me access it, then when I went to give them hell on Sunday I tried it and it went straight through, no probs at all to the Premiership Rugby. it is a broadband connection KIO - just transferred from the Talk Talk account that I used to have. I hope that answer your question, you've probably gathered that I am not a technical guy at all. It is probably me mate.
I think bt's servers struggle to log people on mid-game as they are already running near capacity. I have found though if you long on maybe 10 minutes before the game there's no problem.
