Sorry nobody got to you quicker, First time I've read this thread since my last post.

To make It your signature, In the top right hand corner it says "Control Panel" Which will take you to a new page, When you get there on the left hand side is a box saying "My Settings" In that box it says "Edit Signature" Click that then you will got to the page where you can add your signature. It will be the same as adding a photo like you do on your comments <ok>

He will sort it, but WE need to remember this is not a weak league and we are in transition. No one liked what they saw yesterday but pain is part of supporting City

    You're having a laugh right ?

Wolves, P'Boro, Preston (maybe), Brentford (maybe), MK Dons (maybe) and who else.....?
Sheff U doing nearly as badly as us, Orient and Swindon probably punching above their weight as are Rotherham and Bradford.

The rest of the standard in this league is pretty poor, but so are we, but Jesus, we should be capable of picking up loads of points home and away against the rest.
If you are saying that Stevenage, Colchester, Oldham, Carlisle, Notts Co, Shrewsbury and co are on a par with us then we are in much deeper crap than anyone imagines.

I agree this is a poor league, do not let the fact we are struggling lead you to think otherwise, as I believe some are. What there are in this league is battlers and as yet we are not one of them!!

Spot on, which is where JET may become an unwanted luxury player at times, especially as the weather changes and pitches get sticky, or if like on Saturday he's just not in the mood. That's where he becomes the gamble and if he's not up for it in 99% of games then we'll be in trouble.

Showboating is great to watch if you're 4-0 up with 2 minutes to go, but not when you're at 1-1 and wanting a win, or worse when you are 1-0 down and wanting a point.

Irrespective of tomorrows result, I can't see us getting anything at Swindon

1,Are you happy the way things are panning out.

Not particularly. I expected us to be mid-table after ten games, but it looks like we need time to gel as a team, and that we lost more players that we'd have liked to. Last season, I thought we had the quality of a mid-table League 1 team, so to lose the good players we had we were always going to struggle.

2, Still not sure he is the man for the job.

Whether he's the man for the job or not is almost irrelevant. He's a proven manager and has succeeded in similar roles when given time. He wants to do things the right way, the way that all the fans want to see the club run. If we were to sack SOD there is absolutely no way in hell we'll be able to land anyone better. We'll be a League 1 team looking at the bottom half of the table, with a rich owner that won't spend money, a meddling board room, and a number of players that should have gone a long time ago. We won't get anyone even remotely close to the quality of SOD, and by sacking SOD we'll seal our fate to League 2.

The fans wanted success this season, but it was never going to happen. If there were to be an IQ league table of English football I reckon Bristol City would be in the county leagues. The fans will hound SOD out of the club, we'll land a charismatic, yet clueless manager because we're a ****ing League 1 team looking towards relegation, and he'll further drag us down closer to the Gas.

If the fans had any sense, they'd direct their annoyances towards the board, and will get behind the manager. Instead of calling for SOD's head, perhaps we should be calling for Lansdown's head?

3,I will let you you know in December.

The negativity around here, and around Ashton Gate is too much. Things will only get worse and the players will drop their heads because of it. The club need to get themselves behind the club and the manager for the next game, and then we might see some points on the board.

Indeed - That's what poor performances and heartless displays EARN you as players and as a club

It's hardly the supporters fault is it ? Millions fittered on rubbish, rubbish decisions taken over and over at the very top, and we still have nothing to show for it

If we got rid of SoD who would we get in his place? Who would be willing to work within the constraints of our budget?

We have a long-term plan - SoD has bought into that plan - he's the right man. We need a period of stability in the manager's office.

PS - it took us 10 years to get out of this "poor league" last time - it's not as bad as you think

Listen, I'm not suggesting that we should get rid of SOD

    BUT

We've been through too many managers over the past few years due to us making bad appointments and taking reckless decisions in the first place.

Where we are now as a club is 95% down to such decisions, and the inability of our current manager and board of Directors to keep us in the Championship last season when they should have.

I and others it seems are not impressed with SOD's laid back style or some of the things he says to the media and that doesn't help peoples perception of him. The attitude that comes across is of someone who isn't that bothered about our results or performances and who generally doesn't care much.
I dont want to hear nonsense about small margins and praising the opposition forwards who made us look stupid and pedestrian on Saturday.

Perhaps he ought to take some PR lessons, I'm sure Colin Sexstone could give him some coaching....

Then there are our league results in what is solely a results driven sport, and the main reason behind all of these threads of a similar nature in that we are not winning games that on paper we should be.

Yes we can rebuild, yes it might take 10 years to get out of this division again but who wants to hear that ? All the while we are sinking the crowds stay away in their thousands because who wants to pay to see this rubbish when it's just a repeat of previous seasons, just at a much poorer standard ?

Whether it's as bad as some of us think will be known soon enough over the next few matches - remember that most people said they'd give it 10 games to know where we were going this year. Well we've had 6 already and the signs are frankly less than encouraging as Division 4 beckons.

We've also had the spate of 'hard games', even though they really weren't that bad with the possible exception of Wolves.

From the next 5 games, and allowing for a defeat which I reckon we'll get at Swindon on Saturday, we should be looking at 10 points minimum from home games with Shrewsbury, Colchester and Crawley and away trips to Swindon and Port Vale.

Should we get those points then we will have 13 points from 11 games which really isn't great, but failure to get much less and we'll likely be bottom of the league.

The problem is SOD doesnt help himself with some of his speaches. Start of the season he came out and made it clear that he did not expect City to get promoted this season and was looking at next season to mount a challenge. SOD was just being realistic about his expectations but to most fans it sounds like you have given up trying to win before you start and after every game he comes out and says how well the boys played, though we didnt win.

When things arent going right everyone will always look to point the finger at someone and as the man in charge who comes out with these non passionate comments he is an easy target. He wasnt the person I wanted for the job when he got appointed. I wasnt convinced the first game I saw him take charge and my opinion hasnt changed but I would also think it would be foolish for the club or any other fans to even consider making any changes yet as he is a man who has a long term mission which at Donny had its ups and downs. At Forest they werent prepared to wait.

Unfortunately for SOD we have had one bad manager after another and I think fans are looking at it at the moment that we have been through this every year for the last how many seasons and each time we have waited too long to make a change so I think that is why some fans have been calling for him to go.

The boys really need a win to take some pressure, not just off themselves, but off the manager as the longer this run of not winning goes on the more fans will start to turn. I do think though that once we get a win we will get a few wins on the bounce but to do this I still think SOD needs to hit to loan market and get at least another striker in as it is teh one area I said at the start of the season that we would struggle.
