Talking of spammers..... that is exactly what Cove does.

He posts an identical topic on every clubs thread advertising his dutch blog, and then tries to keep the thread as high up in the list as possible by replying to every single comment, and even replying to himself if no-one bothers to comment.

Oh yes, and then he sends me -4 million rep points for pointing the obvious out.

Like I give a **** about rep points.

Here's an idea.... you could try spamming all the other teams threads about the name change issue.

Because apparently spamming is perfectly legit. Ask Cove about this.

And when the other groups start to complain about you, don't worry because your puppet mods will stick up for you.

Because no-one would ever get banned for taking an opposing view would they?
Particularly when mods can give any number of other "reasons" as the "official" explanation.

<doh> Us mods don't actually ban anyone. We don't have that option, we point the issue to a supermod and they make a detached decision, which pisses on your theory.

    <laugh>

I've never checked, but despite being amongst the busiest boards on the network. I'd bet we've got the lowest banning rate of any.

I suspect if Patty had posted on Twitter rather than on here what he wrote a few weeks back about Hillsborough, he probably would have been arrested never mind banned.

But clearly there are far more serious issues to be threatened with a ban aren't there particularly when you take issue with one of the mods mates.

Which part of "us mods don't actually ban anyone" are you not understanding?

Other mods have taken action on some of your posts that weren't on here, so if you do get banned, there's every likelihood it wouldn't be a mod off here that requested it.

Seriously dude, get a life. I only reported your post on my personal wall. The mods pick it up from there and evaluate it. You've been warned now by different mods from different boards for being a nuisance.

I'm not spamming, I'm posting my content on the boards that have permitted me to post them on. And if they don't like it, then I put it in the off topic thread like on the Saints board. Yea I do have my own blog, but I started that one over a month ago, I posted my articles here for the past year and not since I got my blog.

    Now grow up!

Wrong. I've been warned by one mod because I posted an anti-spam message on your wall and you reported me for it.

Several users have actually thanked me for pointing out your particular spamming technique.

As you have just admitted, even on the Boards who don't like it, you still post to them but then begrudgingly put O/T in front of the post.

Still...with a billion points to your name, you could always try getting me banned again for anti-spamming your spam.

As it seems to be taking it's time fo me to explain things to you, to save disrupting the other thread I'll shortly be moving your posts from the guardian thread to here.

What Cove posts isn't spam. He posts the full article on here so there's no need to go to his site.

As the content is clear from his header and your experience, there isn't even any need to open the thread.

If you feel you really have to open the thread and object to the content or just it existing, report it to a mod, but bear in mind on here, the other mods tend to contribute to the threads, so I think I can guess their answer is similar to mine.

The number of points someone has is meaningless to just about anything. I've explained my opinion on Cove's posts, but by your own admission, you are 'spamming' Cove to try to drive him off the board, and it's that that you've been warned about, and it's not just one mod that's taken action against you.

Now, you've choices, you can accept the position and stop abusing another board user or you can carry on and ultimately lose your posting privilege.

Oh and you got thanked by a couple of users that have made no contribution to this forum as well. Also, I never put O/T in my thread titles, that's up to the mods to decide if they want to call it that way. And I may have a couple of billion points behind my name, but that's more because I've been on this forum a lot longer than you.

Spare me the bullshit, get off your high horse and DON'T read my threads if you can't stand them. And stop spamming my visitors board you bloody hypocrite. I'm done here.

Tubby, 395 posts against Cove's 3072, you don't even have the priveledged to question Cove on his content or where he posts it.

DMD, out of interest, how many banning requests do you recieve? Judging by some of the nannies on here (so soft you could mistake them for Londoners) I guess it's a lot, and I bet Erik and myself make up the majority <laugh>

We get very few requests for someone to be banned. I can't speak for the other mods, but I don't get what I would call a lot of complaints. People seem content to battle it out between themselves.

I wouldn't really know if it was happening, but I can only hope that people aren't just wandering away from the board rather than complain though.

As for you and Erik, you usually get a mention if I pull someone up for over stepping the mark, they then ask how come you two don't get warnings. <laugh>

Sorry to anyone else for having a mod thread. We do try and keep it in the background because I think mods popping up all the time can seem officious, and that's not healthy for the board.

When I was moderating, I requested bans for only I Used To Be John Fallen and AKCJ from the Leicester board(both reinstated later) and someone winding up his City supporting workmate.

Considering the traffic on this site, the ban rate is tiny.

That said, if tubby becomes our first home fan to be banned, I wouldn't object, he contributes nothing, I'm not even sure he's a City fan.
