This clever piece of work, compiled by the Press Association's MatchStory team, was compiled to show some of London's most famous footballers and the club—or clubs—at which they made their name. So, for example, at Oxford Circus, the player is Johnny Summers, a striker born in 1927 who turned out for Fulham, Millwall and Charlton before his untimely death at the age of 34 from cancer. Oxford Circus on the map is the point where the Central, Bakerloo and Victoria lines (represented as Charlton, Fulham and Millwall) meet. Millwall have been given the Victoria line and Charlton the Central line. http://www.standard.co.uk/standard.co.uk/downloads/london_footballers_tube_map.pdf please log in to view this image
Ditto. And praise for Harry Beck who designed the original Underground map (in this style) in 1933 as a spare-time project and was paid the princely sum of 15 guineas for the wall-map and booklet versions once it was adopted by his employers. Now recognized as a design icon all over the world. The simple genius of its concept allows it to be adapted for thousands of uses such as the one to which TC has introduced us.
I know Oz - but for the Palace Chairman to come out with this the season after they picked up a record 18 penalty's and also received 9 yellow cards for diving (5 for Zaha alone) is a bit much!!
I am guessing the London Underground are in the process of building a completely new central station for Scott Parker through which all lines pass through.......
