I agree you can't keep changing managers but there were many on here, you in paticular, dho didn't give O'Neill a chance once a few results went against him but are happy to stick with PDC even if we are bottom at Christmas?

    I find that interesting.

I don't think the majority of the sol faithful will be so supportive if that scenario comes true.

I'd stick with him for 3 years, if he takes us down then he can completely rebuild. He's shown with the DOF signings he can't put them all in at once showing it's still not a team he's comfortable with.

We can't keep saying that year in year out Gil. A lot of trust has been put in to this new model so it will take time and it's still early days. However as long as PDC keeps his mouth shut (within reason) and we keep picking up the odd point here and there and show signs of improvement in both results/preformances and at least give the impression that we could climb the league he shoud be fine by Christmas. BUT if no improvement is shown and lets say backed up with a derby defeat I fear the fans will turn and may force Shorts hand.

but its not just the manager is it ,its the whole club which is changing , for the better imo, whether he he stays for three windows as mo did is another thing, it is a result game as we all know , his head will fall at some point , but the ethos behind the changes will serve the club well in the future.
No more so than the huge wages for no return , if he avoids the dreaded drop i for one will be happy, i have no feelings for pdc ,other than i support the changes which needed to be implemented .
Looking at the games coming up , the team will be on the rack sure enough.

My honest opinion hasn't changed since he was appointed. He isn't the answer.

I loved his passion and his enthusiasm and if it could work who wouldn't love to have a character like this as our manager? However, he is no better placed or capable of managing a Premiership football club than the chuckle brothers. He is better off employing his man management and plans in the lower leagues, which some on here seem to be accepting as our fate in sticking with him.

We have to give him till Christmas but if we are bottom he wouldn't get another penny out if my pocket and we would be better off with a new man from January. I preferred Di Mateo of Poyet and both are still available.

What if we beat WBA? We'll probably be out of the bottom three and just 2 to 3 points from mid-table, if that.

Then the what-if questions might be a distant memory.

Lets just KTF just a little longer.

The difference to me is that I enjoy watching us play under PDC.
Under MON - so many times I sat there wondering why I was wasting so much time & money watching my team
Despite results, under PDC I don't anymore

but didnt you say this about the team when mo was in charge saying you was never going again to watch them .

plus in the new year the games on paper look a lot more winnable to me

A lot depends on the style of play and manner of defeat if we are low. It was the style of football that did for O'neill. He was my choice for manager and I honestly think had he remained in charge we would have gone down. Time will tell with Paolo but 4 games with a new team - ha'way.

I want to keep him. I really enjoyed today's game. Under MON it was horrible to watch boring football. We have had more shots on goal albeit we haven't scored from them but at least we are creating chances.

If the worst comes to the worst and we do go down at least we are trying to do something different unlike last season when we were sleepwalking to relegation.

Remember it took PDC 11 games to get it right at Swindon. KTF all will be good

    Completely agree Scatty
What do you reckon - last home game against Swansea, few drinks in the Tavern to celebrate mid-table mediocrity?

Today, we hit the cross bar, hit the post, we had one goal rightly chalked off for offside and another goal ruled out because the ref thought it better to award us a freekick. We took the game to arsenal in the second half and we looked great. The atmosphere was raucous and it doesn't get much better than the 2nd half today, with exception for an incompetent official who wrecked a tremendous game of football. That isn't within the remit of PDC's responsibility.

Dont misunderstand me mate I want PDC to be very very successful and here next season, I just think, like you say it will take time. All I expect this season is what PL did with A. Villa. Loads of new players taking their chances and surviving. I do expect SAFC to be playing premiership football next year and then with quality tweaking in the transfer market a much better season in 2014-5.

I'm not worried about the next 5 games apart from the mags TBH. If we go down it'll be because we weren't good enough over the whole season, not the first couple of months. We went down with Reidy in glorious sweary-vision on prime-time TV (Premier Passions), but stuck with him and had the best few years of supporting SAFC I have witnessed immediately afterwards. I don't know if PdC is the answer, but I want him given a few years so we find out.

Lets hope so lad and tbh if we play like today and tighten up at the back (game time will sort that) we should be ok. I hope we get a good result in the derby as to many fans base their season on it, unfortunately as PDC said it will get worse before it gets better with our fixtures but if he can keep the heads up and confidence high and keep his head the points will come along with the confidence of the fans.
