Davies Chester Aluko I thought we looked excellent in defence apart from their goal other than that we restricted them to a couple of chances. Our two central defenders marked Campbell very well. Going forward we need to create a bit more Huddlestone needs a lot of good movement ahead of him because he will create chances. Overall its another point better for them because they are the away team but overall 4pts from 4 games is a steady start
I didn't think Chester had the greatest game today. He made a couple of vital interceptions and his defending in front of the north stand was pretty composed, but the first 20 minutes he looked half asleep. Brucey obviously said something at half time, because our passing in the first half was woeful. Goodness knows why Koren passed to nobody when he probably could've taken a shot on himself. I'd go with: Aluko Davies Figueroa
1. Chester - Had Campbell in his pocket and out-jumped the giant Gestede when he came on every time 2. Davies - Looking a strong partner for Chester and chipped in with the goal 3. Aluko - Looked a threat - how far "offside" was he for his disallowed goal? Haven't seen a replay, but I guess MOTD will tell
Davies Graham Livermore Said it on Candys match preview Hudd needed to dominate the midfield, he didnt. Still a class act but he needs to push on to greatness that he has the talent for.
Ye you'd have to be an idiot to not see how good he is on the ball but Medel and Gunnarson exerted far too much influence on the game. Putting my hard hat on here but Spurs players over the years have had a reputation for looking great but battling in the trenches isnt in their make up. Being brutal its two points dropped.
Aluko looked at times unplayable. Aluko Davies Livermore THud looked off it today, which is mildly worrying. Whereas Koren played one of his better games.
The replays on NBC over here show that Sone was a foot or two offside. Clear enough to be called correctly.
Really, I thought he started slowly, but in the second half especially seemed to be everywhere, at one stage he'd gone across to the right, they broke I realised he wasn't in the centre, we managed to win it back, lost it again & when they broke it was Hudds who broke it up & set up another attack.
Aluko Davies Livermore For me Chester and Livermore were on a par, but I just give it to the mid-fielder. I thought we looked better when Quinn came on, and should have snatched it in the last 20 minutes.
Chester - Was solid and dealt (along with Davies) with Fraizer Campbell/Nicky Maynard/Rudy Gestede etc really well. His standing tackles, interceptions and distribution was fantastic. Davies - Ditto with the added inclusion of the aerial superiority and well taken goal. Livermore - Looked to be our driving force along with Aluko. Always looked sharp and up for it, spreading play well and getting the team going forward. You can tell he loves having THUD behind him being the anchoring midfielder. Looks a great prospect, bags of potential.
Chester Aluko Livermore Some other good performances. Pretty good quality game all round. Reckon Cardiff will be comfortably mid-table at the end of the season. What on Earth was Elmo thinking about for the goal? And Brady's gone back to taking too many touches again. Quinn must start next time.
Elmo wasn't good enough to fulfill his defensive duties in the Championship, let alone in a league where he's up against Hazard, Navas, Walcott, etc. Quinn is a decent second-tier larker but there's a reason he was playing League One football at 26. He's not got the pace to play at this level, and his crossing isn't the best.
1. Chester 2. Davies 3. Aluko But a special mention to Quinny who I thought was excellent when he came on.
I think his crossing is excellent. He rarely does it but when he does we always seem to score, including his ball for Aluko today.
Quinn was fine when he came on, I don't think he put a foot wrong. In fact I'd go as far to say his impact was bigger than Brady's.
