Didn't hear anything at all from the 'thousands' that apparently were taking part. Can only assume it was cancelled....(!)
I attended. There’s huge apathy in Hull and equally at City. I say apathy because I refuse to believe that only that small number care about what is happening, however, the numbers were very low. I also sensed a mild antipathy/ridicule from those passing by/looking on too although I could be wrong. If this is more or less the might of opposition, or those who can actually be bothered to turn up to such things, then Hull Tigers it’s gonna be.
The floating support will perceive Cardiff as unexciting, FL types I suppose. The core support are backing the name change by will or by proxy of inaction. Either way, counts the same.
It is hard to complain about being called a name that we all call ourselves! It's more about the way it's being done that annoys me the most! It's not like Cardiffs colour & badge change that is more obviously wrong! I am a tiger! And we can promote ourselves as tigers without the need to drop city afc!
Will any cash-rich split link or similar really want to pump money into a club with gaps in the stands as the even the locals don't back them? As a club we should be concentrating on building our core support in Hull and ER. Maybe an externally-unstated but internally-communicated mission statement. "To be Yorkshire's no1 sports club in profile, status, support, turnover and profit" Worry about the Far East when we've accomplished that.
I didn't attend the protest, but I thought it actually worked very well. It surely stuck two fingers up to the Allams, and the stands seemed bare and void of atmosphere until I noticed everyone was filling the seats at around 5 past 3. It's definitely going to be recognised and mentioned immediately on match of the day. I think if you do it again, but for say half an hour or even the entire first half, I'm certain that will sway the Allams into changing their minds. Hats off lads, a good point very well made by sacrificing the opportunity to watch the first 5 minutes of football.
I was almost late into the ground due to being held up by the multitudes, as we keep being told on here and other fan sites, who were protesting against the name change. Just kidding! I always thought "war" would look slightly more menacing tbh. Still, good work to the handful who wanted to make a point.
I was inside the ground by 2pm but wondered how many would turn out? Any numbers? OLM... your silence is deafening.
Assume you're being sarcastic? There was hardly a glut of people coming in shouting and protesting, indeed I didn't see or hear a single 1. People were traipsing in just after kick-off but that's only because of the usual pre match queues.
My point is! Its hard to complain about being called something that we're already called! If AA said he wants us to wear all white kit! Then you'd have everyone outside the ground complaining! I'm totally against losing CITY AFC but its been done in such a way that some fans won't even notice!
