I've just got in Wooperts - nice to see us 2-0 up, but can we hold on ????

Mouty is going to be in trouble - that's 3 reds already - serious lack of discipline in this team.

    Final whistle - 2-1 away win........Phew.....

Why on earth did our prat of a French right back kick out at the Burton player ? What an absolute idiot.

I hope Guy fines him for that, and keeps Shaun Cooper in the side when he has completed his 3 match ban. That will serve him right.

Still, 3 points is a result for us.

Losing one of our first choice centre halves in first 10 minutes, facing last 10 minutes down to 10 men, playing away against a team above us in the league. A win is fantastic!

a win, but we almost ****ed it up at the end as per. Still don't think Whittingham is the answer.

Just seen a tweet from someone at the match

    Tom Dearie ‏@tomdearie 16m

Red again. Must sort this indiscipline out. First rule of football - 11 players on the pitch for 90 minutes.

@tomdearie he was blatantly kicked first. Referee does nothing, loses his rag.

@brendonvbone Agree mate but that's 2 reds for lashing out now. Gotta be better than that.

1st game - Ertl (unfairly) gets a red.

    4th game - Connolly ........ gets a red.

    7th game - Viewtoakill ........ gets a red.

Every game so far we've had a suspended player.

    Sort it out Guy

Blimey, we won away. Didn't think we were capable of not drawing away.

Though it does remind me a lot of the Cotteril era, especially towards the end of it *shudders*

    Also: Viewtoakill, I like it!

I'm sorry but by that logic Roy Keane should have been the poster child for good sportsmenship and gentlemanly conduct on field, because he was a great player and he played the majority of his career under the direction of two of the greatest managers in the history of football in this country in Brain Clough ans Sir Alex Ferguson, but instead he was dirty thuggish vindictive bully.

In the end, the players are the one's responsible for their conduct. Fines can be levied against them, and judging by Express FM's discription of the incident today Moutouakil would certainly be deserving of one, and other punishments can dolled out such as bans from the FA but the manager cannot control the player if the player decides to do something stupid and violent in the moment on a whim.

Perhaps it's because Guy is trying to be one of the lads. In interviews the players all refer to him as 'Guy', not 'Boss', 'Gaffer' or 'Manager'. The top bosses in any profession always manage to find the balance between familiarity and remote aloofness. Too much in either direction seldom works. Anyway, whatever the case, I believe Guy is here for the long term to give us some much needed stability so let's hope he finds that balance. He gets my support and should get yours.

He gets my support - I think he's the right person, in the right job, at the right time.

So we get a win away from home against a team that finished 4th last season, and will be around the playoffs this season and people are still moaning. Whittingham can't win really can he?? Stick with him! The squad is starting to come good, so why risk changing it so early in the season?

We need to sort out our discipline, but the blame can not fully be put on Whittingham, the players that have been sent off are our so called 'experienced' players connolly, Ertl and now Moutaouakil, they should all know better!

Totally agree. It doesn't mean that there shouldn't be criticism, but hopefully Guy is our manager for the foreseeable future. We also shouldn't forget that, whilst results (business and football) are as important for us as any other team, we're meant to be a club for the community. Until PFC have re-established trust with the good people of Portsmouth, it's important to have a manager that looks beyond what happens on the pitch.

It's for this reason I won't hear about Johnny Ertl being discarded. There isn't any other player who's done more than he has to build links with Portsmouth. I don't think half the players would be turning out for the various events if it wasn't for the captain probably insisting on their appearance!
