442 Magazine has voted the Ajax side from 1965-1973 as the best club side of all time Second was AC Milan (1987-1991) and third was Real Madrid (1955-1960) They selected the Top 20 - the best placed British sides were Liverpool 1975-1984 (5th), Celtic 1965-1974 (11th), Man U 1995-2001 (12th), Preston 1888-1889 (17th) and Forest 1977-1980 (20th) Their rules were that only one era was allowed for each club (i.e only one team per club) Thoughts?
Ajax 65-73 was good but how can they say better than the Barca team of the last few years or the Law Best Charlton era of Man Utd or the later Man Utd of Beckham, Giggs, Christiano Ronaldo, etc all you can say is which teams were best in their era. If you Look at it that way you would end up with a different table but thats what makes football interesting everybody has an opinion and as such all opinions are equally valid. Even those poor deluded lost souls who think the Gas are better than City.
