Now many know i am a great SOD believer. What is the take by our great fan base regards are leader. 1,Are you happy the way things are panning out. 2, Still not sure he is the man for the job. 3,I will let you you know in December.
1,Are you happy the way things are panning out - In all honesty ? No I'm not. Yes there are signs of a recovery but we need league wins to prove that we are effective. If JET is a Summer/Autumn player it may be another long hard Winter/Spring for us. 2, Still not sure he is the man for the job - Like plenty of others, the jury's still out on him for me and it will be until at least Xmas. However if we continue to be winless in the league for much longer then my patience will be severely tested. 3,I will let you you know in December - Ditto. The clock is ticking
1. Are you happy the way things are panning out (Depends which way you look at it, Points wise, No im not, Performance wise yes I am. You can see how close we are to getting our first win and I believe when it comes we won't stop. SO'D is the right man for the job but we just have to be patient)
Couldn't agree more with point 1 point 2 of course he is point 3 If you look at our cup performances you will see that we are almost there, and don't say we should have beaten the Sags easily, Derbies mean league position goes out of the window look at Wolves v Walsall
Wolves and Walsall are in the same league mate But I'm happy, said all along it won't happen this season perhaps others will start to listen now. But we will keep him, no one would pinch him as his record here speaks for no league wins. We will have a good season but won't get promoted but next season we will be ****ing amazing.
'1,Are you happy the way things are panning out' - Not at all, but I did predict a relegation spot by the end of August. For SOD to start the season with Kilkenny and Fontaine was ridiculous - that's not hindsight either, I wasn't the only one on here who said it was mental right from the start. Also disappointed he chose Wynter ahead of Marvin and Reid early on. Seems SOD has to be kicked between the legs to know it hurts. '2, Still not sure he is the man for the job' - I think/hope he's getting there but it's bloody slow. Surely we'll get better with players like JET,Baldock,Marvin,Flint,Reid,Cunningham and Bryan in our side. '3,I will let you you know in December' - I/we'll know before that.
I know they are in the same league but if you asked anyone what the score would be for Wolves v Walsall 99% of anyone other than a Walsall fan would have said easy Wolves win as it was they scraped through with a draw and pens
If we are gonna give the guy proper time to change things around in both footballing terms and club philosophy I think it would be only fair to do exactly that.! This thread is pointless if you all agree he requires a realistic amount of time to do that, slating the bloke half way through the job does not actually achieve anything??
stick with the manager but if he doesn't win a league game soon I think fans will start to turn and call for his head. no doubt things are better under him but a lot of fans will judge him on results
A long term plan is all very well and good but surely somewhere along that road you should expect effort from the players. Either we have hired a bunch of underperformers (again) or the boss can't get them motivated, or even worse he hasn't got a clue. Based on today's dire performance make your choice, considering only the facts in the performance column. Not easy is it to make early judgements on either the players, or the boss, but trust me something will happen soon in the "trust everything will turn out OK, brigade.
I have come off the fence about SO'D. I now believe he has less idea about managing City than any manager we've had in my sixty four years as a City fan.
I have said before and will say again, this squad like many others in the past 5 years is un-balanced. How many times have we seen this, we clearly lack striking options and yet SOD has brought in umpteen midfielders but no strikers, a big mistake which will hurt us if it is not addressed soon. I am glad that he has brought in some new defenders, as that was a unanimous thing on here that needed to happen, yet still we are shipping 2-3 goals per game. I bought in to the whole SOD and a new era and philosophy at the club thing, yet we cannot win a game in L1, I am rapidly beginning to fall out of love with football, City are sh11te, England are woeful,I do wonder what's the point... Much more of this, and it is Aussie rules for me!!
no ta, but I quite understand where you are coming from. This is a recipe for relegation yet again the way its going. We see the fighters in this league on a weekly basis, teams that never give in - take a bow Leyton Orient, Brentford, Wolves, Peterborough, Swindon, Rotherham, Walsall and others, and we still don't have their heart, fight, discipline or determination. We still lack the same fundamental principles we've lacked for years - and we're still falling, unchecked, down the football league
Boring personality Annoying tactics of playing with no wingers Talks waffle and complete ****e to the media Shows as much emotion as a doormat but the last thing I want is to get rid of him
