I'm not going to the game tomorrow in protest against Erik calling me a clown. Imbecile I can live with.
Some would argue the fact they still support the club each week, despite the change of name, shows a greater emotional attachment. For me it goes too far when the club moves to a new city, a la Wimbledon/MK Dons.
True but I am with you on the name change I don't like the fact kids now a days use awesome it makes me cringe we are English and should use brilliant or spiffing lol. We recently visited the United States and I loved their patriotic ways its a shame our way of life is being diluted by external influences, it's may be me being old fashioned.
I would just like to direct everybody to my far superior and user friendly poll. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/229159-The-only-genuine-fair-poll
I'm incredibly old-fashioned and nationalistic, hence why I have a little brown boy in my service who brings me tea and crumpets every other hour.
The reason that I would still go to watch the club I've supported from being an 8 year old boy (nearly 45 years) despite the name change, is exactly because I have an emotional attachment. I'm not happy about the name change, far from it, especially when we should all be talking about matters on the pitch at the beginning of our first, hopefully of many, seasons back in the Premiership but I wouldn't stop supporting my chosen team because of it. Yes I think our club's owner is misguided to say the least if he seriously thinks that this name change is going to have any really positive affect on our future prospects but as to how anyone can persuade him of that, I really haven't got the answer, much the same as everyone else. However, to turn my back on the club over this change of name at what is one of the most exciting times in our history would seem to be a clear case of cutting my nose off to spite my face. Admittedly, I'd probably feel a bit differently about it if he was looking at taking Hull out of the name but that isn't likely based on his proclaimed affinity with the place. If someone can come up with a sensible way forward in attempting to get AA to rethink this supposed rebranding then I'd gladly support it but at the moment, I just feel that all of the protests and negative reaction from certain sections of the club's supporters, are likely to have the opposite effect and just harden his resolve. At the moment he obviously feels that he is the reason this club is still in existence and because of his successes in the business world, that he knows the best way forward. Unfortunately, as he has admitted, he knows very liitle about football and he is treating it as if it is just any other business when of course we all know it really isn't that simple but unless, as someone suggested on another thread, there is a way of getting him to see the reality of the situation, I really can't see him changing his stance. The biggest disappointment about this whole thing is that it is pitting fans of our club against each other when we should all be working together in support of the team. That really is a shame and this whole business is really taking the shine off what should be a great time to be a supporter of this club.
Oh so you've paid for your pass so... Get some ****ing principles you ****ing fanny. Get up on your hind legs and stand up for something you believe in FFS
As of this moment we are still Hull City Association Football Club. It doesn't cost me anything to get to games and I don't spend money at the ground. I fail to see how it makes a difference. Given it is at no extra cost to me, and Allam is gaining nothing from me attending, is it not better to turn up and protest than stay at home? As someone who wants the name change, it's not really your place to dictate how I should go about voicing my concerns, is it.
****ing tart. Go to the protest i said then go home or stay outside and protest. You feel so strongly on the internet but do **** all in reality.
Aye, because you'd know. I'd do whatever I possibly could, Mel. If it meant tying myself naked to the E1 entrance for the rest of the season then I'd do so.
I don't think that we who post actually reflect the opinions of the majority of fans. There isn't a great divide amongst supporters.
Yawn. Every comeback well rehearsed on the internet. Just cant stand up and do something in real life. Sit back eat some biscuits and stay passive. Pathetic little ****.
Thanks for chatting, Chazz. I might catch you on here tomorrow for another chinwag about my passivity re Assem's paddy Regards to you and yours, 'Erik' xx
