If Pardew left.... apart from the clown would anyone else actually want the job?

Just a thought I had whilst watching a lovely lady pound a treadmill just now (red hair, 5ft 9, slim).
It occurred to me that if Pards went and I were a half decent manager.... I'd steer clear of the NUFC job with a barge pole.
Even if a half decent manager were interested.... the fat man wouldn't pay the wages.... or would ask him to revise the deal downwards at the last minute.
Until Ashley goes we are up **** street.

On the business front we are in the top 6 surely for financial self sufficiency in the prem.... fans..... top 4...... stadium... top 4....... ownership and management... relegation zone.

Just pick a ST holder's # out of a hat and he/she would probably do a better job than Pards.

Perhaps some championship manager that wouldn't demand the wages others would. McCarthy might. Would be worth it just for his post match interviews ('We could have carried on playing until Sunday and we still wouldn't have scored a goal'). Even if he was no better than Pards at least we'd hear an assessment of the match as it truly was rather than some fluff that seems to bear no relevance to our match.

I think pards is getting unfair criticism , he's doing the best he can in not the easiest of circumstances ,I know he has messed up sometimes but Christ he's not the worst manager weve had ! I still don't understand Gordon lees logic and as albert says who else would have it

There will always be someone. You won't get top clas ones though, and the board would have zero interest in paying for one. Love to see Hoddle.

I think Lee Clarke is a viable option.

<yikes> This would scare the **** out f me to be honest. I like Clarkie but I'm convinced he has done enough to make me think "yes please". He would take the job though.

Clarkie knows how to set the team up though and would at least get the fans on side.
Pardew thinks tactics are little mints in a plastic box.

Clarkie over Pards for me. At least he's one of us at heart and would always do what was best for the team.

I think any manager that's looking for a shot in this league would.

Ashley is a tit, but this is a great club with great fans and I'm sure plenty of managers would be up for it, just not a well known manager that would hate to be controlled.

The calibre of manager we get could depend on the circumstances of Pardew leaving.
If we rock bottom of the league, decent managers might think twice about taking the job on especially if they were already employed.
However, if we were in good position in the league, you never know who would be interested.
Money talks in football so we might be surprised on who would take the job.

Averages out for top 10 in the premiership at the end of the season. I'd settle for that.

We seem to have bucked the trend of the manager merry-go-round, because we don't tend to employ the likes of Hughes or Redknapp or Bruce etc etc... No we go completely left field and, let's face it, our appointments are even more nuts than offering a contract to the relentless failures of the game (someone will no doubt question this of the names I've mentioned, but they wouldn't have been sacked or moved so often if they weren't failures).

This means that anyone from the old lady that kept perving on me at the bus stop the other night (then her bingo buddies turned up and I thought a foursome was on... I was a well-sucked Werther's Original away from it, I'm sure) to Michael Jackson's exhumed corpse isn't safe.

    was gunna say Curbishley.
out of work since West Ham,
but then I remembered why he left there, otherwise it would make sense. Cockney, has a track record of bringing in youth players and getting teams to overachieve on modest budgets
