One of the better Schools in town mate, Good footy team in my time too. I was a Hurworth lad myself. Cracking School (**** team), apart from the inclusion of some of the Firth Moor lot.
Branksome & Haughton were the teams to beat 1980-85 marra Branksome: league & cup double 81,82,84 League champs & cup runners up 83,85 I remember playing a team from Sunderland in the county cup called 'Sugar Hill'.. We got murdered about 9-1.... They were all massive.. Like Amazon Women or something!! My bairns are at Hurworth now... Don't think they have a footy team
I was at comp school through the mid 90's and you had good team then. I played as a utility fullback due to being strong with both feet but I was moved to center mid against Branksome and had the game of my life. Made center midfield my permanent position. My PE teacher (Mr Clifton. Don't know if he's still there) told my Dad the my passing was fantastic! And my movement? Well I cover every inch of the center circle. I was and still am a fatty. Are you in Darlington or out in Hurworth or Middleton? Is Dean Judson still Headmaster? He's a Mackam. Season ticket holder.
Maybe the convict will return to the English game one day and we will have a chance to exact our own kind of justice with Catts playing against him or Celustka (reckon he would love a meaty tackle or two)
Dean Judson is indeed still at Hurworth.. He's always asking my lad if he's been to the match with me. I'm still in Darlo but no longer a 'cockerton' boy :-(

Cause it just oozes out of newcastle united doesn't it? You're massively confused. Where did I mention Newcastle? Its not relevant to what was being discussed. The poster (calmcumbrian) suggested that Di Canio was "a class act". To claim that about a self professed fascist is ludicrous. So, back to the point being discussed: are the images I posted (including mourning a fascist terrorist, and posing with right wing ultras) indicative of a "class act"? Or are you afraid to discuss the question in hand, about your incumbent manager?
Di Canio? You mean the bloke that turned Harpers game the other night into the 'Paolo Di Canio Show'? Oh and out of interest, why did Colo want to go back to Argentina?
I'm not afraid to discuss anything.. I was merely pointing out that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! And feel free to remind me of PDCs arrest record... Or the dates he has spent incarcerated for his 'crimes'?
Playing a testimonial doesn't make being a fascist go away. If fascism is cool with you then its cool with you. Don't expect other people to ignore though. Sound fair? Why did Colo want to leave? You tell me. Was homesick? Was shagging someone else and his wife found out? Sick of England? Sick of Newcastle? Wanted to wind down his career? Was stressed? Fell out with Pardew? Who knows? So what? Players leave football clubs. noting new. The thread is about Di Canio and Barton. Knobheads both. In the thread about the knobheads it was asserted that Di Canio is "a class act". ****ing hell. If you genuinely think fascism is equates to class then you are an idiot. When Di Canio (whether sooner or later) leaves your club I have no doubt you will regret your club's name being dragged through the dirt by association with vile ideology. But you should be big enough to see past football and recognise that your manager is at best a bit of dick trying to act the tough guy with right wing ultras and full blooded fascist terrorists, or at worst promotes and believes an hideous ideology that has no place in our society and has besmirched the name of Sunderland football club. Either way, the guy is not class. He's a dick. Is Barton a dick? Of course he is. He's a nasty ****. But I can see past football and know that I wouldn't want anything to do with Barton off a football pitch. Surely any decent person can see the same about Di Canio. Or can you not be bigger than football?
Perhaps I'm just ignorant, but I've always steered well clear of politics. I don't care how anyone thinks a country should be run because at the end of the day, like it or not, I'm going to have no say in it. It also makes very little difference to me which of the three parties get elected, because at the end of the day they're all going to do roughly the same thing anyway. Yeah, they might change taxes in some minor way, or reallocate the budget marginally differently, but am I going to see any real, measurable effects of it? Am I ****. I'll go to work 5 days a week, I'll chill out and watch telly / hang with friends in my free time, and I'll go out and get bladdered at the weekend. Whether Labor, Conservatives, or the ****ing Green party are in charge, I'd bet good money it would have little to no effect on my daily routine or the way I live my life. For that reason, I have completely ignored politics throughout my life. So Di Canio is (allegedly) a fascist (although I think I'm right in saying he has since denied that, but I paid little attention to any of this so I could be wrong there). Honestly, I have no idea what the ins and outs of this political system are, or exactly what Di Canio's beliefs are in relation to it. Surely, politics is not so cut-and-dry that one chooses a stance and has to believe every single thing associated with it? For an example, the press seemed to be claiming Di Canio was a die-hard racist due to fascism, but he has several black friends (many of whom have spoken favourably of him), and he himself has stated that he is categorically not a racist. But people choose to disregard that because he apparently agrees with some apects of a political system which the world at large has apparently deemed evil, therefore he must be a grand wizard of the KKK behind closed doors? I don't buy into that ****, and to be honest it annoys the **** out of me that people are STILL using this stick to beat di Canio with. Who's ****ing business is it to tell the man what to believe? To even go so far as to tell him what he believes, based on what? A throwaway comment he made 6 years ago? A hand gesture specific to a group of football fans? To put that on the same level as Joey "my brother's a murderer" Barton is crazy imo. Have Di Canio's "beliefs" ever stubbed a cigar out in someone's eye? Have Di Canio's "beliefs" ever assaulted a 16-year-old boy and broken their teeth? **** off have they. Please, give me one example of PDC causing anyone any harm as a result of his alleged beliefs, and perhaps I will change my view. Until then, PDC can believe in the ****ing tooth fairy for all I care, actions speak louder than words, and his actions make him classy as **** as far as I'm concerned.
please show me where I have stated 'fascism equates to class'?? i think the fact that PDC was willing to play in front of 50,000+ 'baying' fans shows the character of the man. i haven't once said I agree with anything he has done in the past... I'm not interested tbh. were you interested what tino aspirilla was doing running round with a gun? We do agree on one thing tho Marra.... Barton IS a nasty **** !!
