That would be good news - particularly the Ozil one!! Class player - as much as I would love to see him playl, I want us to win more so any injuries to them are greatly accepted

Can you imagine the headlines if we win "Sunderland beat half strength Arsenal team depleted by injuries"

That is ALL the papers would say!! I hope they are saying that personally

Exactly that does my head in. If we get a good result against a big club, the Journos always talk about why the other team got beat!

The only important words for me in that headline would be "Sunderland beat Arsenal"

I dinnit care as long as we get three points !, I hope Catts plays tomorrow he will give the midfield a lift, I would go 4-4-2 and play Borini with Fletcher.

Love a win, but a moral boosting draw would be fine by me.

Thought this was going to concern us. 'For Arsenal' as in for the Arsenal game.

My thoughts exactly.... Anything to stop 'the rot'.. And put the Palace game to back of our minds.
Saying that tho.. I've got a sneaky feeling !!!!!!!!

I wish you lot would stop this kind of talk. I`m in serious danger of becoming optimistic.

New signing Mesut Ozil could miss out making his much-awaited Arsenal debut at Sunderland.

Arsenal’s record £42m signing is a major doubt for the trip to the Stadium of Light after complaining of feeling ill during training.

Per Mertesacker is also a doubt also because of illness and it could be that they both picked up something while on international duty with Germany. Both are desperate to play but will be given late tests.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will make a check on the pair this morning but it would be a huge blow and will also test Arsenal’s squad to the limit.

Wenger is already without Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and if Ozil misses out then Arsenal will be short in midfield. Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo are also out.

Mathieu Flamini, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey could make up the midfield and fit-again Thomas Vermaelen could be rushed back into the squad if Mertesacker does not make it.
