Wilshire is good, like Cleverly. But for me both old fashioned box to box midfielders. Now this is not a bad thing, but in a midfield three in one of the better teams you need a creative player who could unlock the defence at anytime. For me neither of them are this

I don't know why you are creaming yourself over Wilshere.... He will never be in the same class as Ozil, Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso, Mata.... Need I go on?

Fully agree. If I were playing against a team, I'd much rather they had Witshire playing in the middle than Mata, Pirlo, Fabregas ect

It is a bloody disgrace that the best Midfielder we can produce is Wilshere and Cleverly. Win the World Cup by 2022! <laugh><laugh> We won't even qualify! <ok>

I can see what you mean by Cleverly but Wilshere has the potential to be the best midfielder this country has produced but I get a slight feeling you won't be convinced.

This Barkley looks a good prospect also, early days yet.

It's very early days to be writing us off yet JWM, there are some decent youngsters coming through, they just need to play first team football early!! Phil Jones looks like he could be an awesome CB but hasn't played enough games or enough in that position. Is there enough youngster coming through, I'm not sure

Another lad who seemed to have a very bright future but has stalled slightly is Jack Rodwell.

He played a lot of games for Everton at a young age and looked like a real handful in their midfield. Should never have moved to Citeh but I fancy that if he moves to get more games he'll be a very handy player in a couple of years.

If we have a future midfield 5 of

    Ox - Barkley - Wilshere - Rodwell - Theo

then I'd fancy we'd score a few more goals than we currently do..

Forget Rodwell! He looked good, got a big money move to early, will now bench warm for 2-3 seassons and then become an average prem player! Another wasted english talent!

Also Theo LOL! Firstly he's no that young anymore and apart from his pace, he has as nothing.

Barkley could be good, but to early. Also I likw the Ox and think he may start to play in the centre as a creative midfielder.

The younge player I'm excited about is young Shaw of Southampton. I just hope he stays at the Saints for a good few seasons to get experience. Also dare I say it... Redmond of Norwich could be good, but I hope he leaves Norwich soon...

At 24 I would hardly accuse him of "Not being young" he has atleast another 5 years of potential developing and I'd hardly say any 24 year old is the 'finished article' or considered to have missed their opportunity

I can understand why fans don't rate him as highly as I do but I think he has great natural finishing ability and the level of athleticism that will always cause teams problems. I think he will prove a lot of people wrong in the next couple of seasons

Yes Theo may have a few more years to develop. But most wingers hit their top when they are 26-28 so Thoe is almost there and veru rarely does much change in a top players game between the ages of 24-28.

Theo is a good player but not world class. Imo he should make the squad, to be used as an impact player with his pace. But if we want to be one of the best teams he shouldn't be starting!

If Theo waa to throw his toys out of the pram at Arsenal then who do you think would come in for him? I cant see Real, Barca, Inter, Juve, Milan, Bayern, Chelsea or either of the Manchester clubs going for him. Maybe a French team, but most likely a team like Fulham or Newcastle. He's good, but not world class. When's the last time (if ever) he's made the difference in big game, like the top players do?
