I put a thread about the state of English football on a couple of the other boards. A Hull fan came up with the idea of giving incentives for teams to play English players (because of the legal difficulties of imposing quota's). Maybe not as effective, but good to see there are different ideas out there. As far as City is concerned I'm pleased to see a joined up strategy for youth at our club. This now culminates in them being given a chance in the first team (Booby and Joe). When parents see that we are a club that gives young players an opportunity, Bristol City's Academy becomes a more attractive destination
Quotas failed in Scotland Incentives depends on what the incentive is a European place to the team that plays the most English qualified players during a season based on time spent on the pitch.
