I dont think we will ever know about the details ,for a long time down the track if at all ,Plus they can allways hide behind the undisclosed fee !
I'm not angry that Graham is being sold. I'm not even angry that Buckley is slightly unexpectedly being sold. I'm angry that Dasani has done absolutely **** all to push up the prices.
Sale - Fire or not! Watford are at the limit of their debt facilities as prescribed by Ashcroft, Barclays Bank and Ticketus Services as they are our major creditors right now. Being at the limit means there have to be asset sales - IMO Baz is just a puppet brought in to take the flak. The owners have gone through the player list and have set targets for cash realisation - the term for a sale of assets to raise cash, in our case to reduce the debts. I have stated in other posts what I believe the cash targets are this summer and believe Malky will only be able to spend when these have been reached. When you consider that Peterborough have already stated they will need to sign players, the "majority for fees" you can see this league is going to be very competitive. Southampton had a player budget of £21m with just £0.3m of TV revenue and Brighton have sold in excess of 16,000 Season Tickets, so you can see our financial status has us down the bottom of the division for the 3rd season running. I only hope our run of luck continues.
I think I'll keep away from here for a bit until all the negativity subsides. Theres enough in life to get depressed about without thinking the worst when its not necessary. A bit of balanced realism and affect things you can affect is my motto so bye for a bit....
It seems to me (but what do I know) that it is better to lose players at this stage of the close season than at the start of the new season. Malky. can plan better now than he can when he is told to rebuild after losing Smith, Williamson etc. I'm not saying the situaton is ideal - it isn't - but the assumption on this thread seems to be that all this selling is being done behind Malky's back without him having any say in the process. We have no evidence for that.
i wouldn't assume that MM doesn't know anything, it'd be interesting to know how much say he has in it...
Although if said dont do anything in a week ,went on holiday to spend family time ,without a phone , I`d love to be a fly on the wall when he got back! Quite an intimidating fellow in the flesh
