hes rated at least 20 million and hes always being linked with big clubs, hes rarely scores goals and he was complety useless against real madrid in the champions league. If he was as good as everyone says then surely tottenham would be in the fourth spot not city??

I think that Modric is absolutely fantastic. Also, football is a team game and Man City have David Silva who I think is also absolutely fantastic in exactly the same role as Modric!

I think most of us agree that the championship season was brilliant, brought fans and players together more, knocked a lot our expectations down to realistic/managable levels and was simply good fun to win again...

The coming season will be decided over the next month...Luck will decide whether we suffer from injuries or have a good cup run, but the next month will decide what we'll have at our disposal to cope with it!

 

To be fair, I understand what he means about going off the team. The seaason we were relegated, supporting the club seemd like a horrible, painful duty you had to perform but which sucked the joy out of life. Sort of like caring for a relative during a terminal illness. You do it, maybe even you want to do it and would insist that you and you alone shold bear this burden, but it crushes your spirit just the same.

And then we hit the Championship and going to matches was fun again. You got to like the players. You got to like the manager. We won lots and lots and lots of games, which is fun. And then we got promoted, and we have done kind of okay in the prem, and our hopes of improvement have not yet been dashed.

Im not a plastic fan, ive been a supporter all my life and i love the club dearly.

Just because we had a dull ****ty team with players such as nicky butt, bowyer, dyer etc the club brought embarrisment on the supporters, i wasnt proud of the players in the years after bobby robson.

I love England but i dont think any of us are proud we go to other countires and stick our noses in their business while pretending we are doing them a favour.


you can love something with all your heart but still get annoyed at it, like a father scolding his son.


now newcastle has its spark back, im proud of the team, i have always been proud of NUFC but not always been proud of the players in the team and i think thats whats different now.

The way you worded the orginal post left it open for people maybe to think along those lines, but in a way I can kind of see where your coming from ,however I wouldnt describe it as going off the team, more disappointed with it!

But i totally agree Nicky Butt was one of the most overrated players I have ever seen...and well the bowyer and dyer incident, lets not go there, it never happened!!!
