Id go with .......................Westwood....................... Celustka....Diakite....Roberge....Colback .......................Ki........Cabral................... ...Johnson.........Fletcher.........Giacherini ...........................Altidore........................ Hoping to see no Larsson Vaughan or Gardner in the starting 11.
Here is my team and subs for the game. Just posted this elswhere with same players but different formation Westwood Celustka, Roberge, Diakite, Colback Johnson, Cabral, Ki, Giacherinni Altidore, Fletcher Mannone, Cuellar, Larsson, Mavrias, Catts, Borini, Karlsson
What do you think the team will be? Should be a competition this as it's a bit of a guessing game as we don't know 100% who's fully fit from injury and who Paolo fancies for his tactics. I gone with what do think the team is and not what you want it to be as there's been a thread already on favored starting line up. Westwood Celustka---Diakite/Brown---Roberge---Colback Larsson<sad>/Cabral---Ki Johnson--------------------------------Giacc Fletcher/Borini---Altidore Read reports that Catt's is fit but whether that's enough for him to start is another guess so I think he'll be on the bench like Fletch was against palace. Larsson is there because Paolo clearly rates him I'd love Fletch to start with Altidore but again will Paolo think he's ready to start? Obviously praying Brown is fit.
Argh! Can I make a personal request to merge threads please? Edit: Actually this is for favored as supose to what you think it actually will be so don't bother.
It really does, if PDC can get it clicking we should be ok. Then if we are in the Prem next year id like to see a little steal added in the form of a quality centre half and a combative midfielder who can play ait too.
Sounds divine mate. A couple of really good fullback prospects to give the positions some depth for once would be nice too.
I do want to see Catts back in the fold but fear rushing him back might have us back to square one. Ps who's the fine young lady in your avi?
Just another minger, you know how it is Lot's of people opting for Cabral, but he seems to be out of favour, why, no one knows. So if he ain't getting picked, and it's between Catts and the rest of the ****ing donkeys, i'm going for Catts, all day long.
Rather than risk playing any of the three stooges in the middle id shift Roberge to left back and put Colback next to Ki if Cabral is still on the naughty step.
Would personally go with this, although I think pdc will start with borini, just got a feeling, hope I'm wrong
This team would be ideal, but I think he will select Borini over fletcher (due to fitness concerns) I am also sure he will play larsson as he obviously has something over the club or he has something written into his contract to play every week.
Now that looks promising. Not sure of fitness so Borini to start & Fletcher as an impact sub? Agree with the bold bit.
Like Comm I expect Catts to start with Ki. Cabral seems out of favour already. Otherwise the team looks good. In fact I expect 6-9 points out of the next 4 games. My optimism has returned for no reason whatsoever
Just watching the PDC interview on safsee and he says Fletcher is not fit enough to play 90 minutes at the top level but is fit enough to cause problems and score goals. Normally i would take that as he aint starting. However, Altidore has been injured and Borini has a hamstring niggle as well.
@SimonPryde: Wes Brown training again but unlikely to feature v Arsenal. Altidore and Fletcher will start up front. Giaccherini a doubt #safc #totalsport Keep thinking its saturday tomorrow! Wish i would stop doing that!!!!
Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio has urged versatile midfielder Jack Colback to sign a new contract at the Stadium of Light. Colback, who can also operate at full-back, is considering his future with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season. Di Canio believes the 23-year-old's best position is at the back and insists he can go on to have a stellar career on Wearside. He said: "Jack is in negotiations but I hope he is going to sign a new contract because it would be difficult for him to find a better club than Sunderland. "I know Jack wasn't happy in general at the end of last year and I had a chat and told him I don't want unhappy people here, but he has a big chance this year. "In my opinion Jack is one of the best few left-backs in the country. He has all the characteristic qualities - he is aggressive, tough and intelligent and he can push forward. "It depends on him but I'm very satisfied with the way he played in the last few games. He deserves a new contract and he can have a very good future here." Di Canio also admitted that Wes Brown is edging closer to a return after an 18-month absence with a knee injury. "Wes is looking much better than he did last week and this is a good signal, so I am going to decide tomorrow what to do with him," he said. "Wes is very close. It was important he had a good session with the rest of his team-mates and I will decide if he going to be involved in this game - which is a hard game - after so many months out." I have a sneaky feeling he'll feature. I think Paolo will be pondering whether or not to play the two new lads at the back for the first time together, or risk Brown. Risk either way if you ask me. A third risk would be cuellar. All the options at the back look risky without JoS. Can't wait for the new lads to be settled in.
