Yes Red, I know there's probably forums for this, but indulge me this once. Blokes in work seem to be watching telly on their phones, including football on Sky anywhere. I have Virgin and a Galaxy S2 (**** phone). I have a Virgin Sim and own my phone. You can't get Virgin Anytime on anything but Apple, but Virgin don't rent I-phones! is it worth me buying an I-phone 4s? are they any good? Don't wanna ditch virgin as we get free BT Sport. Suggestions and reviews for an old technophobe please....
Trying to decide between another iPhone or a Galaxy 4 myself so would be interested to hear some opinions on this. Played around with the Galaxy in the shop yesterday, seemed nice.
HTC One is as good as any phone right now. If you're after a slightly bigger screen, wait for the Note 3. Otherwise, it's a shootout between Iphone (paying for the premium for the Apple brand), S4 (also becoming slightly overpriced nowadays), or the HTC One (which is, just about, the best of the three and best value).
Well, if its purely down to getting your virgin streaming then it looks like you don't gave a choice at mo. which is not great. I've had the 4s for 2 years now. Hated it performance wise compared relatively to my 3GS.intermittant but persistent Wifi drop out to 3G guaranteed on all streaming services I have on phone: pain if your service provider contract is only 1gb!! (All 4 people including me I know that have it have had this issue, although mines the worst by a long shot TBF) It's got 'clunkier' as its gone on, despite back ups & restores. Battery nose dives if you use it to stream often (based on 3 other people using it that way) delayed home button response, screen shift twitchy. App drop out got worse as it got older. All without being anywhere near memory full or having large amounts of apps running at the same time & a tight hold on apps running off GPS etc etc... Shame as I liked the size & shape, especially since I now have a tablet & don't envy the big screen of this years phone generation anymore. My upgrade is due in October, the release of the 5s has convinced me not to go that way. What? for £10 quid more than I pay now for at best a phone that doesn't do all the above & has a better camera, oh and a fingerprint home button So was heading for the HTC one but have heard today a souped up version of it is due out before the end of the year & since its winning the review battles at the moment a better version of best out there sounds good to me. Will see how the 4s copes with the IOS7 update next week.
Thanks for that Frank. think I may hold on till Xmas and see if Virgin can expand their service to include Androids. HTC been mentioned a few times - here's hoping.
Get an iPhone. I've had a few of the other smart phones but just bite the corporate, trendy bullet and join us. I was a sceptic but it really is the best.
One word should be enough to steer you in the right direction - itunes. And I'm surprised at you Yoda, promoting the dark side? hmmmmm.
Even Jedi masters have to eat. iTunes is a steaming pile of ****e IMO But the sheer usability of the iPhone wins the day. For browsing, twitter, texting etc it's brilliant.
I have a Galaxy S2 I think What dont you like? I can upgrade it in Feb but to be honest i've found it decent. Its my first touch screen. I had 2 different touch screen ones before that but couldnt get on with them and sent them back and I get on really well with this and the camera and vids on it are really good I had to get a touch screen because when it came to upgrade touch screen ones were the only choice (I hung on for dear life to the key pads!) so had to get one in the end From ppl I've spoke to majority say android are better than the iphones but that obv doesnt make that true! Im 34 in a couple of weeks by the way not 94 even though it sounds like it!
iPhone all the way. I've had three iPhones as well as many other android phones and the iPhone is the best by far
I can't really comment tbh I've never had an iphone I just know that when I try and copy or move files with my mates with iphones we can't do **** all without iTunes! **** that. I've got a £15 a month Huawei Ascend G300 which is .... well you get what you pay for.
Yeah you see different ppl say different things, just what suits personally I suppose Ive always found my phone camera to be better than a couple of mates iphones but not sure of their model
Not many people have an unbiased view. Its like asking a bunch of committed football fans what team to support... They'll tell you to support their team.
It ****ing randomly bleeps and says it is charging, it is **** at tethering and it doesn't play videos. My daughter persuaded me to pay £150 for it from Tesco's, then promptly got a Nokia because the Samsung was "ladgeing", whatever that means. So I'm stuck with the ****.
Oh right, had mine a yr and a half and touch wood never had a prob with it tethering? You tie your dog to it? Looked up ladgeing and that means someone taking the piss? Sorry Donga im not on the same pg as you at the min!
