Steady, we've finished the last couple of marathons a head in front of you lot. I hope Martinez can break the 18 year wait though, I'd even take the Mickey Mouse ffs.
Not this year And now you have our reject Martinez If you say this is our year enough times law of averages say you will be right at some point
We've give you this year mate, we're in a 'transition period' Oh & didn't Martinez *cough* reject you like?
We've been in one of them for the past 10 yrs but still manage to win stuff Nope, Maritnez turned up with his begging bowl and we listened to him and his ambitions and thought it'd be better for him to wait for a club that would befitting for a manager thats not won anything. You may be able to use his experience of getting Swansea promoted in the future
The beauty is every time we fall back down to earth there's a fat Rhyl residing bluenose we can mock about trophies etc....always helps. to cushion the fall Doubt many of your lot are getting carried away after your start eh
There's a rather strange sense of optimism around tbh. Many Blues wanted Moyes gone & see Martinez as the man to bring back the "School of Science" football to Goodison. I'm far from convinced, but there's plenty of Blues out there who disagree with me & see tiki taka as being the way forward. I mean we've signed the Irish Joe Allen ffs.
"But this is not why I stayed, when Liverpool made me an offer." "I stayed because my chairman is unique." Roberto Martinez - August 2012
I like Martinez and hope he does well. Kenwright said almost the first words out of his mouth were he'd get Everton into the CL that was probably not the wisest thing to say but it must be a target.
“We make no secret of the fact we spoke with Roberto Martinez, but that is all we did" - Ayre June 2012
He's a nice bloke & the media love him, but I'm not sure about his ability tbh. His sides have always been very 1 dimensional to me, same as I criticised Rodgers for last season, I can see Martinez doing the same at Goodison i.e. passing teams to death but not scoring enough goals to put games to bed. We were a 20 goal striker away from being a side good enough to qualify for the CL last season, we were playing some lovely football & I think we'd only lost 6 league games in about 45 at the end of Moyes tenure. So there's no need for revolution, but I think there's a real danger that he's going to lose what made us so strong & why people hated coming to Goodison (where we've only lost 1 out of our last 23 league games)
Very attack minded coach but seems to be clearly limited when it comes to the whole team, especially the defence. You defence was very solid under Moyes - how has it been under Martinez? Any noticeable differences?
Yeah Martinez seems alright His sides ship a few goals as well though dont they? I include Swansea in that I think most Evertonians cant stand Moyes now is that right?
....and the Belgian Heskey Your lots biggest problem at the mo is that your squad's set up for Moyes hoofball style (here fishy fishy) so it will take time to adjust. At least (despite the **** he gets) you know your luvvy chairman will give him time.
