    how about a twist

no football stadium but either :-
3 or 4 blocks of posh flats with 20% discount for council planners
and 30% discount for nimbies for ground floor ones
flats only 12 stories high with a 2m security fence and parking for 80 cars

combination of affordable housing and multi story flats with a minimum of 140sqm of front and 180 sqm back garden, first call for city season ticket holders shops as below but 2 pubs the other called the I said the nimby

a state of the art recycling plant. not incinerator, but for recycling organic materials

as above but to include glass

A new estate including a pub to be called who killed cock robin a spar, aldi or lidl set of public loos near the main road but well landscaped from the estate with tall trees and a earth bank covered with plants for butterflies and birds. Loo's also equipped with outdoor organic composter for the masses of dog poo ! generated by nimby dogs.

a go cart centre, which on match days would be used as a carpark with coach link this would give the people around the stadium a bit of peace!

a cyclists velodrome with small 500 seat terrace & parking for 100 cars

    a rugby stadium

How about a Village Green where there will be an absolute abundance of village idiots fit to accompany it who are allowed to scupper the desired progress of our club.

I'd make them dress in the mandatory uniform too....

If the local populace want to keep their green space whats wrong with that?

They have used what democracy has provided them.

Bit silly as the locals would obviously defend their community and communities against it. They have put a right fight up so far. Human nature that.

How about a speedway track or MONSTER TRUCKS! I'm sure the locals would love it, or hire the land out to the gypies

Absolutely nothing, aside from the fact that it was totally unused before it was sold to Steve Lansdown.

They are simply using the usual weak and ancient laws and loopholes to be a nuisance.

I didnt put evidence forward but I used it and there are paths across it. Short cut amongst many things to L Ashton/ Bower Ashton. The law they used is a new one.

What is the point of that? Many people round there are elderly and fought for this country. Bit of respect would not go amiss people round there were scared to speak out as they feared football fans. threats and intimidation around BS3 I would be sure to say (99% anyway) did happen.

    Gypsies and travellers.
I would suggest we all have a whip round and put up a fund for Europe's largest hippy commune, something akin to Christiania in Copenhagen

OK, the dogs would scare the bejazus outta you, and the wonderfull smell of newly mown grass would certainly fit in with the Utopian society that the locals would fight for. At least until they discovered that it was a tax free commodity :)-)
And the Icelandic girls, who would drag you into the bushes en mass and you would never be seen again.
At least they could then lay the blame at the feet of the wild and rarely exotic wildlife that exists there, or whatever they call the rats who have so expensively made it their home

What on earth are you on about?

    Copenhagen is not in Iceland.

Residents of Ashton Vale are working class labour and C2's. Long Ashton is well to do Tory.

There are many Icelandic people living in Scandanavia, as you would know if you had been there.

There are very few Icelandic people living in the free state of Christianna, which is in Copenhagen Denmark. And yes I have been there overnight en route to an England game in neighbouring Sweden (Gothenburg).

Dont let details and facts get in the way of ill informed rants though.

I also have acquaintances in BS3. Hippy, greens? No salt of the earth types concerned about their lives and homes.

So unless I'm mistaken they already have a football stadium on their doorsteps in BS3, so what's the issue with having a new one a few hundred yards away ?

If you walk ( I have) from the Atyeo, down Winterstoke road, turn right at the Robins, under the old railway arch its nearly ten minutes away. houses in Ashton Vale face open spaces. even people who love football dont want to live next to a stadium which is a massive development and change. hardly a loft convetsion going in next door. Ashton vale is peaceful and sleepy a stadium would change that for ever.
