Surely not Skrtel, you forget against Tottenham at White Hart Lane?. Ilori not tested, neither Sakho. So my choice between Kelly and Wisdom.
Honestly can see him leaving next year - old, out of form, high earner and doesn't really justify his high wages
Agree with RHC, a bit harsh no? Yes, he's not the worlds best defender, but he offers our attack a great threat going forward, Wisdom for all his ability isn't as good as Johnson going forward, so surely with that reduced threat down the right, will it make our attack unbalanced? Would most of it end up going down the left with Enrique and Ford and down the middle of the park... However with the threat he can provide going forward, comes vulnerability, so we may be a bit more solid at the back in that I don't Wisdom will not charge down the right wing as often, swings and roundabouts I guess, Rodgers could push Henderson further out to the right rather than his current roll of inside right, but you then lose his impact in the middle where he's been superb, so far this season.
Kelly was fit enough to play 90 minutes for the U21's against United last midweek - he's short of match fitness, which he's not going to get on the bench or in the ressies. I'd choose Kelly over Wisdom at RB at the moment
I'm glad I read all of the posts before commenting. I was going to go with the consensus and say Wisdom. But then I started to see some comments regarding Kelly. Wisdom I know can hold his end up defensively. However, whilst he has the pace he always seems a little uncomfortable to me when he crosses the halfway. Before his injury Kelly was developing well at both ends of the pitch. I agree with St. John, he's not going to get better sitting on the bench. Therefore, I'm going to propose playing Kelly with Wisdom on the bench as cover.
Wisdom until Kelly gets back to full fitness and good luck to Glen Johnson in trying to get his place back when he gets back from injury because I think he will struggle to do it.
It'll be Wisdom or Kelly but I wouldn't discount Ilori after he gets some game time - isn't he meant to be very quick?
