Hello fellas. I'm a fan of Borini but think it was good move to loan him out and hopefully give him games. I'm hoping that he will come back to us next season a better player and I'll be keeping a close eye on his performances, Let me know your thoughts on him as he plays.
If Altidore and Fletcher are fit he won't get much game time. He will, or should be no more than occasional back up. Not interested in helping Liverpool out by getting one if your players fit and up to speed cheers.
I have a feeling Borini has been assured of game time and think he'll start whilst Fletcher gets back to 100% and Altidore adjusts to the Premier League.
Altidore has more experience of his league than Borini already though and Fletcher looked fit enough start against Arsenal IMO? Unless he isn't permitted, Borinis only opportunity to play will be league cup games or injuries. If either Jozy or Fletch are dropped to accommodate a loan player it would be a disgrace IMO mate.
I wouldnt be suprised if, when all fully fit, he rotated borini and altidore! Keep them on their toes! Fletcher will always be his first choice though!
Ignore Cest, He will get plenty of game time. Paolo picks his team depending on tactics and opposition. Borini is a different type of forward to what we've got and will be called upon plenty don't worry.
Borini has 17 appearances and 1 goal Altidore has 30 appearances with 1 goal. He is hardly a veteran in comparison. I would assume PDC will rotate the three depending on the opposition.
Altidore cost the club £6m. Fletcher £14m. I don't think either will be spending much bench time if fit to play at the expense of a 21 year loanee.
What if Borini scores more goals and performs better than Fletcher and/or Altidore? Do we persevere with players not performing purely because Borini is not our player? (Hypothetically speaking obviously)
I'd never give a loan player a place over our own. As long as Altidore and Fletcher do the business they are first picks. It was intimated that Borini has signed with the promise of his place and if that happens without giving our own players a chance then that would be a disgrace. Borini should only be given Cup games, injuries or a total lack of form after 10 games or so be his opportunity for match time.
It all depends on who we're playing and what the game situation is. I'm guessing PDC will rotate the 3 and use Connor and Ji as back up for them.
But Cest man. Paolo has stated that he'll pick his team dependent on tactics and opposition. Borini is completely different to any striker we have and WILL play when we need that kind of striker. I know you don't like it but it's the way it's going to be. It's not my opinion it's fact quoted by Paolo. Besides, I'd much rather win games than play an ineffective style just to please Fletch and Jozie.
Bottom line is, strikers are used/played based on performance, if that means playing a loan player then so be it. If he gets goals he has to play, it would be detrimental to the team to do otherwise.
I agree. Paolo might take some convincing though, unless you can prove to him you're a perfect all rounder who can score, then he's gonna chop and change.
Bang on mate, strikers are a different breed, unlike say a midfielder who can be changed to suit a particular style of play, a strikers are there to score goals and will be judged on how many they score. Not on whether they are loanee's or staff.
