To Sweden and Ireland and Scotland they go When International duty calls, Canaries with more than one string to their bow Learning to deal with new pitfalls And also on England and Holland standby Are those for whom a turn will come, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Fer and Ruddy And Redmond, to name only some We can all remember just a few years past How hard it was even to find, One or two who could join the national cast So now, bearing all that in mind I think we can say with a wee touch of pride All this qualifying hubbub, When players go gallivanting far and wide Can only do good for the club Personally I was sceptical before Just how much value they could give, A few days away on a far foreign shore With an injury risk to survive But with every cap also comes a big dose Of confidence which they can use, To boost all performances, and namely those Back in their yellow and green shoes And at lower levels the signs too look bright That NCFC will be part, Of many future qualifying cup nights If they keep perfecting their art So I must agree with the great Dylan Bob The times really have now moved on, We´re getting players here that do know the job Which can only keep us on song. Spot on as always RBF, yes the risk of injury is a concern but if they weren't playing for their country they'd be playing for their club or training, any of which could result in an injury so it makes no difference really! Usual to your king and regards to you and Mrs RBF
I share your positivity RBF and C-D. There was a moment last night when the BBC update on the ROI/Sweden game read: 'Anthony Pilkington challenges Johan Elmander unfairly and gives away a free kick. Martin Olsson restarts play with the free kick'. Great stuff!
Only came on this thread as I thought I might see some Dylan on it... Nevertheless, nice one, RBF!
If only mate, too many responsibilities now, those pill-popping speed enhanced days seem like a ****ing life time ago!
