    Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is reportedly interested in signing Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason in January.
    The Magpies boss signed frontman Loic Remy on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers during the summer but was still looking to bring another striker to St James’s Park before the transfer deadline closed at the beginning of the week.
    Newcastle were allegedly trying to bring Demba Ba back to the club after selling him to Chelsea in January but the Senegalese stayed at Stamford Bridge.
    Pardew has now turned his attention to the January market of next year and, according The Journal, the Toon boss has sent scouts to watch Finnbogason over the international break.
    The Iceland international was an unused substitute for his national side’s 4-4 draw with Switzerland on Friday but could feature when they face Albania this Tuesday.

    Never heard of him, but he is a full international and scored a hatful of goals in the Dutch league.
    Celtic and Lazio were after him in transfer window, so we won't be getting him.

    I'm not convinced he'd improve on Pappis Demba Cisse and I'm not particularly an admirer of Cisse's physical or technical credentials at all.
