Worse than a bite that's for sure. Good to know football authorities have their priorities in order and will only give him a 3 match ban at most.

Honestly, it's nowhere close to being the worst tackle ever. Late, no attempt to get the ball, etc, but the elbow didn't connect, the contact was pretty much on his shoulder and it was a glancing contact. It looks worse in real time because of the speed the player was running.

Deffo red, but hardly worthy of all the coverage.

I think you were looking at the wrong part of his body!

The outstretched leg scythes him down - long after the ball has gone too, it was a terrible challenge imo.

I'v sen so much worse. I'v seen worse tackles go unpunished.

That was clumsy and late, but no malice, no studs.

    Over reaction.

It's not the worst tackle I've ever seen either but it was a dirty, late tackle, plus the lad has previous. He was sent to anger management after picking up 4 red cards in 8 months in the Bundesliga, if nothing else that points to the type of player he is and this latest dismissal is an ongoing theme for the very style of play witnessed in that video.

No studs, Not directy on a joint. Bad tackle, but nothing horrendous. Red for sure but not a career ending tackle and those are the worst obviously

Did you lot see the elbow? He doesn't just go in with his legs, he elbows him as he's flailing down.

Its alright to commit a professional foul and get carded for it. But you can't bring the game into disrepute. This is extremely violent and Simunic knows what he is doing. He's gotten so many red cards, once got 3 yellows as well.

Watch the replay that shows the tackle from behind and you'll know what I'm talking about. Its not the worst foul ever committed, there have been loads worse, but it is cynical and violent which doesn't belong in the game.

It's not clumsy, that would imply he didn't mean it. This was obviously intentional, I don't even think he knew the ball was there he was so intent on getting the player. This kind of thing is far worse than an accidental leg breaker. Intent should count for a lot more than it currently does, it's unacceptable.

Nowhere near the worst tackle ever. Eduardo leg break springs to mind.

It was reminiscent of a NFL tackle, but far from the worst.

De Jong's karate kick in the WC final was worse.

Anything studs up is worse IMO.

That's a bad tackle for football, but he's hardly in much danger of injury. Worse happens in schoolboys rugby.

Meh, made to look worse because of the speed, but it was just a leg on leg tackle, no harm done and got no where near him with his arm.

It's one that looks bad but doesn't cause any serious damage and I'd much rather have someone tackle me like that than cowardly studs up tackle on my shin.

Bloody hell, the guys leg just snaps. You can see the horror on his face afterwards.

Who was the guy on loan from us playing in France (or was it Holland) who did a horror tackle a couple of years back?
