Cheers guys, won well in the end to land me a nice bet. Probably being greedy and asking a lot but it would be nice if Flash Crash can do the business in the 5:20 to make a nice bit of profit on that Yankee!!
I think Barzalona has a decent chance at a 5 timer tonight at Kempton so im backing them all as singles and a canadian. Just say the words Barzalona and five timer out loud 3 or 4 times and see if they really go together... joking aside, good luck SMP, whenever you put something up I can always see what you are getting at but I think all five have chances but he will only get two at best. I hope he can get Inspiritor up as I have backed it but I am not a fan of his to say the least. I feel Godolphin have not replaced Dettori adequately but of the two De Sousa is by far the more reliable.
Backed Ocean Tempest in the first at Kempton, seems to be back in form and is a CD winner. Ocean Tempest @ Guaranteed Price (9/2)WinOpen 6:20 Kempton
2nd for the 3rd time in a row, I thought this would be the day. Very nice ride from the winner though
I backed him also SMP and thought he could not lose 2 furlong out, given a great ride but just grabbed late on by what I suspect is a classier horse. I say that because our Ocean Tempest had all the advantages of good draw steady lead and clear passage, Uppercut had to sit last, travel wide and challenge wide but still won. Ocean Tempest's win is not far away I feel however. I have had a yankee this evening on the following at Kempton 6.50 Adventure Seeker 7.50 Inspiritor 8.50 Castelio diablo 9.20 Valid Reason
Good luck fella, yours is the most likely winner of the first however mine cost half a million dollars and I cant ignore that.
Nice one bluesky, not my day today. Yours won well, mine ran on really well. Definatly one to back next time out.
Thanks SMP, I think yours may well end up the better horse as he ran quite green and will know much more next time. William Buick gave the winner a great ride as both ours broke badly but he noticed the slow pace and still allowed him to come forward, I suspect he knew the horse would be able to cope with it and had confidence in it but still a good tactical move on that pace.
Just had a look at the last couple of races at Kempton and picked a couple out for an eway double... 8:50 - Voodoo Prince 14/1 9:20 - Jezza 5/1
2 wins and a place. you were right blue, he got a double! Im with you with Jezza in the last drever, good luck.
I am quite disappointed SMP, if you watch that last race Castelio Diabalo has a terrible position and comes late and looked unlucky and Cat O mountain benefitted from the draw and held on, this was exactly the same as the first race in which our Ocean Tempest was in the Cat O mountain position yet the outside closer got there, I was wishing for an extra 50 yards for Castelio and shouting for the line to come sooner for Ocean. That's racing I guess and we get used to taking this stuff on the chin, I had a couple of nice bets going though.
Yep these short straight tracks are full of hard luck stories often based around draws and/or jockey tendencies. Win some lose some i guess. Bring on the jump season.
Lets try and end on a winner Kempton 9.20 Valid Reason 8-1 to win Valid Reason & Diamond Penny Reverse Forcast.
Unlucky on Jezza there, I think he needed a stronger pace. A few losing horses travelling back tonight could have been winners quite easily.
