    Rep. My point exactly.

It was one of those moments where you feel ashamed to witness it.

I am behind PDC,but he should not criticise his Captain in public.John O'Shea botched-up the other day,and he knows it!!Why did Paulo have to have a public dig at him??We lost the game because PDC picked the wrong players and got his tactics wrong! He went over to the SAFC fans at the end of the game, and said "my fault"!!

Has PDC said anything I disagree with?
    Nope.

Should he tone down saying things I agree with?
    Nope.

I could understand all this feeling sorry for overpaid mercenaries, who are paid to do a job, if the player was getting bollocked and it wasn't true.
Everything PDC has said was true, he has a very good grasp of English but still makes mistakes in his ordinary phraseology when in normal conversation.
Anything and everything he says is under closer scrutiny than any other manager, here at Sunderland or elsewhere than I have seen in my life.
People put their own spin on what has been said.

Me! I love the fact he says it like it is, what he said about JOS was spot on, he doesn't want apologies he wants a seasoned professional not making school boy errors!
It is absolutely ridiculous to me that anyone could take offence at that, I doubt JOS did, no matter what anyone else says.
Ji was an embarrassment and a coward and I think PDC was more restrained than many other managers would have been in his comments.
The way some are talking about so called top class managers, that they wouldn't have a go at their players in public.
    Really?
What about Saggy chops and his "My wife could have scored that goal!" Was he castigated for it?
Was every pundit trying to get themselves on camera to berate him?
Nope coz it was good ole Harry.

Other managers have had a go at their players too including Fergie, but as they aren't called Paolo Di Canio, they are allowed to. <ok>

Whilst Bruce was here he slagged off Bent for wanting away and not showing loyalty.
This from a man who hasn't got a loyal bone in his body when something better comes up.
Some may not be old enough to remember this, ignoring the mercenary way he jumped from club to club as a manager, but whilst a player he was doing it at Norwich, saying he wanted to play for ManU.

The day PDC has a go at someone and it' is undeserved, then I will have a go at him.
As long as he is saying it like it is, I say more power to him.

I agree with Talc, if any of these overpaid mercenaries can't take honest criticism they can **** right off, bunch of pussies.
I have had enough of players taking the club I love for a ride.

That's not really the whole story though is it .... this isn't the first time O'Shea has cost us points or the game through losing a player.
We lost because he threw away a goal and reduced us to 10 men. At the point he made that error we were more likely to win than lose.

O'Shea said it was a terrible mistake and Di Canio agreed, no big deal in my opinion.

As an outsider I would say that PDC is a bit of a disaster in PR terms. That's fine if you want to take the old Millwall line "Everybody hates us - and we don't care" less so if you prefer your club to be well thought of by anyone other than Mackems.

well said sir. I was thinking about the old Saggy chops line on Bent. I'm sure Cloughie berated/took the piss out of his players during his reign as a top English manager.

The three critical goals we have conceded which have turned the game have been defensive organisational errors and/or resulting from dumb challenges. JOS's responsibility and he needs to take the flack to make sure he cuts this out of his game.

Yes yes and thrice yes :emoticon-0148-yes: . Been arguing at work with the glory hunters down here, that he aint the only manager to slag his players off in public . After being pushed into a corner I couldn`t think of an incident to throw back at them but now :emoticon-0148-yes:.

There isn't a problem with anything PDC has said about his players; some of their attitudes; performances or abilities. I think we are all in agreement about that but its the public way he is delivering that message which causes problems for me. As fans we can debate them in public forums such as this one all day long but surely he has to be much more clever than that and take a look at the dressing room politics in a far more intelligent fashion.

If a manager in any walk of life is intent on holding weekly public hangings of his staff, then that manager is not going to succeed in taking his troops with him. Imagine if a Captain in the army publically slagged of his troops to the worlds media week after week, what sort of loyalty would they then get when they went into battle? At some point these players are going to get sick & tired of PDC's antics and stop following him into battle as well. I get the sense that he does this to deflect any criticism away from himself and as the games roll on without a win (stretching back to last season) and the pressure is mounting.

My big question over PDC from the very beginning was his temperament and how he would man manage players in a far higher level than league two. His management style is fine for lads on £500 or £600 per week but will simply not work on ones on £30,000 or £40,000 a week. At some point they will stick two fingers up and tell him to feck off. What happens then? Will the board and owner sanction another 12 or 14 new signings? I think not and it will be the coach that pays the ultimate penalty - rightly or wrongly. If he wins games he can do as he pleases. That's what success earns and Cloughie got away with whatever he wanted as he was successful, as did Fergie and Wenger but PDC is a couple of light years from those kinds of people and they delivered on the pitch year after year but he (PDC) simply isn't winning games and if he isn't careful he isn't going to get the chance to do so here at Sunderland.

Keep the bollockings inside the dressing room and get on with the job at hand. Unless he learns that managerial rule he is going to be a very short lived SAFC manager imo. Think of Phil Brown at Hull City? If we go 7 or 8 games and no win then I dare bet there will be a lot more debate about his public outbursts amongst fans than right now even. If he wins 2 or 3 then he will silence them but to me its not the sign of great intelligence to stack the cards up against you before you've even started on your journey.

He will never manage a premiership club again IMO.

He didn't win the first 3 games this season, in fact he only won 2 out of 14 in total and is not fit to manage above the conference or 4th division.

Possibly the worst manager in my memory and a massive relief he has been sacked and replaced with a professional. Under Poyet our future is exciting and bright. Under PDC it was doomed from the off.

I shall leave the ****ing to those like yourself chump that have mastered it to perfection all their sad, lonely, miserable **** lives. Now go **** yourself while your there as well.<ok>

Also, while we are on, just what has Martinez actually done to warrant praise? **** all yet. Just as our season cannot be judged in December, neither can Martinez and Everton. He and us will be judged correctly in May.

Sad, lonely miserable life <laugh> stop talking about yourself for **** sake.

Martinez has done class at Wigan with winning the FA CUP with no money & always selling his best players. he has changed Everton style of play & it wouldn't surprise me if Everton get top 4. all depends on injuries tho.
