Absolutely awful crowd. Sheff Utd sold out brammal lane for the last game, barely 5/6 thousand at the Mad stad.
You can see from that last cross why JWP's crosses weren't being jumped on by defenders in the Sunderland match. It's not that they bend...they bend late. Step up on one and it'll curve over you to its intended target.
Shaw having a good game...he could end up as a midfielder. Good shot as well. But not neglecting his defensive duties on the rare occasion it is needed. JWP reliable as ever. England need another goal...no point in dominating, then getting caught out by a rare shot from Moldova.
England look pretty good but Moldova are poor and the game is certainly a long way below PL level, so we should expect both Shaw and Ward-Prowse to have good games, and they are.
Strange game. Always difficult to play an unambitious opposition, but still loads of chances that should have been put away. The Moldovan GK shone in the first half, but second half we should have had a couple of sitters. Shaw looked very good and must have impressed Hodgson, but didn't have to do much defensively. Finland will be a bigger test. JWP did what he had to do and should be a starter in the next game. England seem to have some pace and skill, especially on the wing. Promising...just glad we got that goal....nil-nil would have been a travesty.
Was a bit worried towards the end when Shaw's delicate little foot was trodden on. He didn't immediately join the team in attack and my heart sank, but later he reappeared
