It was a fantastic match, but I'm a bit gutted that some sections of both sides had to ruin things. I'm not too fussed with the pitch invasion, but it's a sad state of affairs that a victory against rivals in the first round of the JPT is that much of a cause for celebration. Those fans have let down both clubs and have reduced the chances of regular derby matches once again.

I was on a flight home from Boston yesterday afternoon and was sat on the plane refreshing the score on my phone like a mad man. Bloke next to me had no idea why I was so anxious as we entered the last 20 at 1-1. Probably figured I was a nervous flyer......Just managed to see the update for the second goal and then had to switch off for takeoff. Bloody plane didn't have Wi-Fi so I had to wait 2 hours until I got to Charlotte to switch on again and find out the full time score. Vey pleased to say the least.

The half-wits who invaded the pitch and then decided to play tough guys - shame on them. Unfortunately from the photos I have seen, they come from a very weak gene pool and need to be banned for life from the Gate or the Vale. They have ruined what should have been a great sporting occasion for Bristol. I'm just surprised to see some of our posters reveling in this behavior......??

Shore throat and ears are still ringing kind of sums it up. Great atmosphere during the game.

It is a shame that it had to be ruined at the end by mindless fans and the club and Police for not taking better steps to stop fans running on to the pitch. I dont know what the issue was but they were out numbered and under prepared. Maybe it is a good thing these derby games dont happen ever season for the Police.

We were even Daily Mails main sport story this lunch time, with pictures and videos

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2411923/Bristol-City-2-1-Bristol-Rovers-Police-clear-pitch-rioters-clash.html?ico=sport^headlines

Most coments shows people ill feeling towards our club with postive messages calling fans of our club as being scum. I guess this is why in a recent pole we were rated as one of the most hated clubs in football because we have a group of so called supporters who just want to fight

Who was reveling in bad behavoir from my point of view I can remember many pitch invasions in matches involving us and the Gas sometimes our fans less often theirs but usually who ever won it was rarely more than chanting at the opposing fans which I don't see as a major problem if there is violence that is a different matter and should be dealt with.

I've still got some small change in my pocket from the generous donations the rained down from the stands. I'll give it to charity.

I shudder to think how the evening would have ended up if we'd won. That aside apart from our lads being like rabbits caught in the headlights for most of the 1st half it was a good game. Took a couple of class goals to beat us but we gave you a decent game.

    Onwards and upwards<ok>

It's the actual opportunity for violence that is the problem, and invading the pitch and running over to taunt the Rovers fans with various one and two fingered salutes is the best way of giving the idiots that opportunity. Everybody knows it is an offence to invade the pitch so I have no problems with the club and police using CCTV to deal with those people. Looking at the TV footage I did notice a group of supporters abusing a Rovers player when he was taking a throw. Friendly jibes and banter is OK in my book but watching some idiot shouting at the top of his voice non stop. "You f****** P****" to me goes over the top and shows the intelligence of some of our so called supporters. It's those kind that I would be happy to be without.

I think all clubs would prefer not to have idiots like that.

2-1 playing a lower league team at home seem to have been a struggle and more of a relief than anything else. the pitch invasion let you down though..But credit to the gas for running you close..
