I'm a bit on the fence about these "loan deals without the option to buy" - If a player (as Wellbeck, Rose, Evans et al) plays well for a club, regardless of who owns them, then this means that they have helped the club they are on loan to. If Ki and Borini set up and score goals for us then this is good for SAFC regardless of who owns them - if we don't have them then we have an option of Danny Graham coming back to us or Larsson and Vuaghan patrolling midfield - so even if we don't have the option to buy, then we still gain the benefit of a good player coming in for us in the short term and longer term we can look for a permanent replacement
