I am told that the opposition lobby are trying to find someone who objects to the QPR proposal and has no assets so that they might ask for a judicial review but get legal aid to do it since they have no assets.

    Talk about working the system!!

Anyone know any more? Is such a thing actually possible and, if it is, would us writing to our MPs actually make any difference?

Hopefully it will come down to Tony's lawyers being better than theirs.

I doubt writing to your MP would be much help; especially if you live in a constituency other than that of Ealing Southall. And even if you do, Virendra Sharma is less than likely to give you a particularly helpful response.

You would be much better to write to your local cllr (if you live in Ealing).

Still don't think that would achieve much however, as the politicians are all for this. It's the judges that could overturn it, and there is no overlap between the judiciary & the politicians.

Certainly in the current climate, legal aid is going to be ever more tightly restricted.

I think the mere fact that we are building a public sport centre and facilitating public playing fields will be enough to persuade any review. Plus we can just point to the state it's in now to show we are upgrading what's there now.

Havent they really clamped down on legal aid and this isnt exactly life changing importance like losing your house.

What it does say to me is that they think they have no case and are pretty sure they just want to drag it on as long as possible.

It'll pass soon enough. The argument is essentially that the land could be used better than a private company pumping in millions to regenerate the area and improve facilities for the community but wanting some of it to be for private use. If any residents or anyone else cared about it, it wouldn't have been a ****hole for years.

Some people just hate change, especially change on their doorstep. The guy complaining, I forget his name, is a self-appointed head of some committee and well-known busybody. There's absolutely no genuine argument against QPR's plans.

Exactly, the only reason I can think why they dont want it is dog walkers will have to go somewhere else to let their dogs crap everywhere and they shouldnt have been using WF in the first place as its a sports facility.

Can I just say I have played both football and cricket at warren farm and a more windswept barren isolated outpost you would not find at the earths extremes. It's a dump and the local num nuts need to wake up and smell the coffee.
A thermo nuclear attack would improve the so called sports ground. It really is that bad.

NOT Claiming to be an ITK, but a close family friend works for a demolition company who will be removing existing buildings etc told me last week that Balfour beatty have apparently been given contract for construction of training ground at warren farm after a few "loose ends " are finalised.
Not sure how correct this info is but he seemed quite certain, just passing on info i recieved, but am not claiming it to be a cast iron fact so please dont shoot the messenger.<gift>
