I can't remember the stats...........but the number of players released by clubs is unbelievably high. Very, very few make it as a profession from 16 to 30 odd!!
I can just imagine them all holed up together in a large room kitted out with ex-airport connected seats, some lying stretched out on their luggage, others reading and re-reading the smallest of small ads in old yellowed newspapers, a big black dustcovered phone in the corner which hardly ever rings, and when it does everyone wakes up in a panic and dives for the phone (Camp drops it) and it's always a wrong number ;-(
Last roll call ? .......................... nah, we Aussies are a pro-active bunch and saw the writing on the wall for many of these guys, long ago. That's why they are in the Last Chance Saloon' back over there!
