As it is international break time found this self explanatory article which should get people talking www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-free-travel-Premier-League-away-matches.html if the link does not work then just google (Richard Scudamore wants more clubs to offer free travel for Premier League games). This link may also work www.inagist.com/all/369038842633805825/ Apparently each PL club has allocated £200,000 for such a scheme. Thoughts and discuss away..................
This'll get you there: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...490&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Hull City should offer all those who were @ Orient Free tickets for the Udders game. I have still not forgotten the Macclesfield home cup game either from 2 years ago. I shall forgive last seasons Rotherham cup game as it ended in a penalty shoot out win.
If they all get involved it will be a big help but with ticket prices for places like Chelsea being £50ish and the other costs of attending a game it will still be a big stretch for a lot of families to attend away games. I think that they need to understand that the game is quickly moving outside the financial reach of a lot of working people and they need to address prices as a whole and not just travel
It looks like the cash is going to be used to reduce away match travel costs. Norwich fans got a free trip to Hull and Stoke fans got free coach travel to West Ham last week. But what are Hull City doing and when will they make it public ? £200,000 will go along way and surely when we go to such far off places like Southampton - Swansea and Cardiff those trips should be heavily subsidised for the fans. Sadly if not then i dont expect more than 1500 to attend. The time has now arrived for clubs to act.
Coach? ****ing coach tickles. If a private jet is good enough for Shane Long then its good enough for Chazz. Or is this just more penny pinching from the Allams!! TWT
Last seasons Derby game, I was asked by some boring fart how long it had taken to get to the game. I replied that it was 35 minutes from Southampton, but we circled for 15 minutes waiting for permission to land. I did add that it was ridiculous how far the helipad was from the stadium. The old boy who was stood in the queue for tickets alongside me simply nodded in agreement and after a while he said " it took me 3 hours by car". WTF
I suppose it's one way to get fans to travel on official coaches, almost like the Huddersfield situation last season but with a financial carrot rather than a police stick
After watching Shane Long for the ROI on friday night we may just have dodged a bullet with Wba pulling the plug late on. He is not a £5m+ player end of. As for the cost of the private plane etc etc that will go against business expenses i would suggest which are tax deductable. If not then send Wba an invoioce for the whole day. But back on thread...... Stoke City fans will get free away coach travel to all away games this season and that that has been paid for from the £200,000. Not sure what other clubs are doing but Hull City need to let us know expecially the fans who use official coaches. Time is not telling so far......
If you like........ I would not call them that. They are our fans afterall. But clarity on what we are doing would be nice from the club.
