Mornin' Blues......... Sunderland fan just doing my dream team and I'm debating putting Eto'o in there. I'm just wondering though, is he going to be number 1 over Torres? I really don't rate Torres these days. That isn't based on his ability, just the fact that he seems to be a moody git and he's let his sulk about his initial dip in confidence change his career. It's a shame, because when I saw him play at Sunderland a few years ago for Liverpool he was unplayable. So I am thinking, Chelsea: ------------------------Eto'o--------------------------- -----Hazard------------Willian---------------Mata------- --------------Ramirez---------Lampard------------------ Surely? He can't not use Mata.................right? Also, as purveyors of fast, direct, powerful football (and not pretentious tiki taka, pass it sideways crap) I wish Chelsea well this season.
No one really seems definitively sure. Personally, I think if you played Ba in every game he'd be the PL top scorer at the end of the season, but then again, I'm not Jose.
HAHA, haway man, don't say that, it's disrespectful that your £50m striker is Carling Cup level when we have Ji Dong-Won and Connor Whickham as our cup strikers!
I think Torres is finally getting back to the player he used to be! In Jose's hands he will thrive! With all the games we are likely to be involved in, he'll choose them for each specific purpose! Possible they could take the field together?
I'm not Wumming and anyone who knows me will back me on that but some of the comments on Torres are just unbelievable! Why for his blistering pace? He will never get back to that player not even Jose could pull that off. Have you not watched him? Some sense. Mourinho is a good manager and will get the best out of most players and you lot will certainly challenge for the title but stop flogging the dead horse that is Torres, surely he will be gone in January.
I know you're not a wum but the way some people talk about Torres it's like we've let the ******ed manager's son get a game. This is still a guy who has been top scorer at both of his last international tournaments and scored some important, and very good goals in Europe for us last year. He will never be the Torres of 5 years ago, but he is still a fine player (quality goal v Bayern the other night too).
Plus, the way we've failed to get a real tune out of Sturridge, Ba and to a much lesser extent Lukaku, makes me wonder if our system isn't suited to a number 9 getting a load of goals. Most of our goals come from midfield. Would RVP score 30 in our side? Not so sure.
Fair enough, I don't think he's good enough for a team challenging for the league and CL but that's just a matter of opinion. I just though some were getting a bit carried away. Not wumming Bluemoon.
He is a spoiled baby who ruined Liverpool for a season and a half, and cost three managers their jobs her: ruining three Prem campaigns for us in the process. Can you imagine how much better we would have performed in the Prem 10.11, 11.12 and 12.13 with even a £20m striker
Good call, unless the 1 up front is Drogba, the system just doesn't work with our midfield buzzing all over the shop. We have immense skill, flair and speed, but no one to pull the strings. BIIGG problem that needs solving, and quick !!

This. We have so much talent in midfield that I think it would be a mistake to channel our attacks through one player. Look at Utd, if RVP gets injured for any length of time, they are in BIG trouble.
Well, yes, but we dont rely on 1 striker, thats the point. Rooney and Hernandez may be better than Torres and Ba, but they are not better than RVP, not by a country mile, so you would be in trouble.
