Free transfers can be registered any time providing there's a space in the squad. It depends how many we've named, if we named 24 we can register one more player. If we registered 25 then we've no space left.

You can't send anyone on a season long loan, it's 93 days max out of a transfer window. And no if they are registered they still will be when they return from their emergency loan. The spots have to be vacant when the transfer window shuts.
Any player out of contract when the window shuts is a free agent. Free agents can be signed anytime. Sadly most of them are crap and wont impove us.
