8/10. Had we signed a decent forward, 9/10.

I wonder how many more times this season we hear Steve Bruce banging on about our archilles heel being lack of goals.

We are a hit according to this.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...mier-League-summer-transfer-verdict-2013.html

    HULL
    VERDICT: HIT
What their fans are saying today: ‘What happened to Shane Long?’
The answer is – West Brom lost out on Lukaku and so wouldn’t release the Irishman, leaving Steve Bruce short of attacking options. But they have certainly improved the squad, with quality such as Ton Huddlestone (if he can stay fit).
    IN
Tom Huddlestone (Tottenham, £5.25m), George Boyd (Peterborough, free), Maynor Figueroa (Wigan, free), Curtis Davies (Birmingham, undisclosed), Ahmed Elmohamady (Sunderland, £2m), Allan McGregor (Besiktas, £1.8m), Steve Harper (Newcastle, free), Danny Graham (Sunderland, season long-loan), Yannick Sagbo (Evian, £3m), Jake Livermore (Tottenham, season-long loan), Gedo (El Ahly Cairo, season-long loan)
    OUT
Corry Evans (Blackburn, £700,000), Sonny Bradley (Portsmouth, free), Danny East (Portsmouth, free), Mark Cullen (Luton, free), Andy Dawson (S****horpe, free), Jamie Devitt (Chesterfield, free), Paul McKenna (released), Seyi Olofinjana (released), Jay Simpson (released), Jack Hobbs (Nottingham Forest, season-long loan), Tom Cairney (Blackburn, five-month loan), Cameron Stewart (Charlton, season-long loan).

    9/10 from me.

GK 10 (McGregor a master-stroke at the price)
DEF 10 (anybody unhappy with Davies?)
    MID 10 (say no more)
FWD 7 (Graham is not as bad as many say, Sagbo - who knows; Long would have made it 9)

Mgr , owners, etc. 8 (get the feeling we were mugged last night, but otherwise very good )

CLUB 9 (Far better than we would have imagined just 4 months ago.)

GK - 9/10 (McGregor looks like the answer to our GK problems, and Harper is a great backup)
DEF - 9.5/10 (Davies so far has been like Beckenbauer*. So far, that is...)
MID - 11/10 (Thudd and Livermore. Say no more.)
ATT - 7/10 (Not really had a good chance to see what they can do yet.)

    Overall - 9.1/10

If we had got Long that would have made the attack an 8.5/10 for me, and overall a 9.5.

Well done Brucey. Only 120 days until you can sort out the striker problem (if Graham doesn't work out of course)!

*Based on video footage on YouTube, obviously.

    GK - 9
    DEF - 9
    MID - 10
    ATT - 7

    8.75 for me.

    This ^^

Would've loved to have seen Long come in but, as a previous poster stated, it would've been lily guilding.

As is often documented, one could spend 5 times what we've spent and still struggle as a newly promoted side. Good, fighting, team spirit can't be bought, at any price!

Squad looks ok and is infinately more sustainable than what we put together for our last (flawed) assault on the premiership.

    All imho, of course

I don't think we had any say in the matter. WBA would not let Long go until they where certain they had got Sessa and Antichbe. If anyone was guilty of leaving it late it was WBA. Also how the **** can you not be certain the deal has gone through.
