Good goal, but it looks like he lost a yard of pace.

Maybe a decent summer's training might bring him back to his imperious best

Three years of playing with rags is bound to affect anybodies confidence. <ok>

As an Atletico fan, I still follow Torres and was surprised to see how poor he was last season. I hope he returns to his best and he is welcome back at Atletico if he doesn't. Aguero needs back up :emoticon-0105-wink:

He looks pretty quick to me in that clip. Great goal, hopefully a good pre-season is what he needs to get back to his best.

I think the 'yard of pace' thing is a complete myth.

The guy has had a lot of injuries in the last 18 months and when they settled down he came into our team which was badly struggling for form and confidence. He also suffered from an awful supply line and we just dont seem to play a style that brings a lot out of him. This needs to change as on his day, he is the best goal scorer in the world barring villa.

Had benayoun been fit i'm sure Torres would have scored more goals.

I totally agree. Some people seem to think that Torres used to be Usain Bolt for some reason.

Well, to describe him, I would say he isn't as sharp as he used to be, maybe thats just my feeling.

Same thing with Micheal Owen - injuries take their toll I guess

Absolutely agree with you all - Yard of Pace - it is a myth.
He just runs the same way as he was a L'pool player. Yes he doesn't run 100 m or 200 m track - no-one has clocked his yards per minute.
