A decent days racing for a Tuesday with some very watchable races at Goodwood in particular. I have started the thread to put up a selection at Lingfield however for a lightly raced horse being stepped up in distance for the first time, something I feel will bring about the necessary improvement to take this.

    Lingfield
    7.20 Codebreaker 7-1

This horse has been very lightly raced but it's certainly possible to find bits within his form to suggest he should be winning a race or two, names like Debdebdeb, Pythagorean and Related suggest he is on a mark which is workable. Another thing of note is that Jimmy Fortune who is less regular on the race course at present seems to have an affinity with him as has rode him on all but his debut and comes to Goodwood for the one ride again tomorrow.

    3.40 Leicester BOGSNOG 8-1.

Following this for the simple fact of currently the WORLDS hottest trainer / jockey combination of Kristin Stubbs and the excellent Jacob Butterfield.

23rd August Gold Beau WINS, 25th August Polar Chief WINS, 27th August Megamunch WINS, 28th August Gold Beau WINS, 31st August Bronze Beau WINS.

Butterfield also had yet another winner on the 29th August on Last Sovereign for Trainer Ollie Pears.

Bogsnog was 2nd on his last outing under the very average Tom Eaves 12 days ago and I fully expect Jacob to get a phenominal 7th winner from his last 13 rides.

Someone on here mentioned Drahem last time it ran. Ran loose before the race lto, eventually went in and was involved in a photo finish. Runs tonight in at Lingfield (6:50) though a wide draw in a largish field and not an ew price so I will probably give it a miss...

Afternoon, crew. Very decent card at Goodwood, this afternoon, with some £80k in the old prize pot. Quite unusual, these days, for a Tuesday but lets have more of this, say I, and less of the class 5 and 6 drivel with mere pennies as reward for the connections.

The 6 Furlong 2YO Nursery (4.05) looks a very nice event and I think CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT can record another victory after finally chalking up a win last time out. In his first 7 efforts this term the old boy had run some respectable races but it was not until 9 days ago, at Beverley, that he finally got his head in front where it mattered. In fact Captain Midnight did it very well that day, and looked ultra progressive, as he travelled supremely easily before taking it up and running on very well to record a 2.5 length success over Northern Water. That latter beast wasted no time in upholding the form, incidentally, as he effortlessly obliging by 3.25 lengths, in a £10k conditions event, just 2 days later. Raised both a furlong and 6 pounds, from Beverley, I can’t personally see either factor being enough to stop Captain Midnight, with Ryan Moore up this time, obliging here. Odds of 3/1 look quite appealing, methinks.

    Good luck, troops.

I've bet very little on the horses for a while now, but having made a profit on the golf (40/1 winner, 66/1 & 45/1 placed) over the weekend coupled with a day off work, i thought i'd keep a little back and have a flutter today.

first four races were tricky, so stuck them in a lucky 15

    Kano's Ghirl 2.10 Muss 10/3
    Wizara 2.20 Good 2/1
    Lady Tiana 2.30 Leic 4/1
    Goal 2.40 Muss 2/1
