I Wonder if due to SAFC's on going Loan policy which over the past few years has seen us offer chances to fringe/young/struggling players from other teams (Evans, Wellbeck, Rose, Borini, Dossena, Celutska et al) in order to improve and help their parent club either by gaining a playing position or increasing their market value they will consider this option?

How about letting me have my Season Ticket on LOAN!

then if we do well I will have an option to buy it, If not then it will be returned with a nominal fee (half of which the Club can pay) and we can negotiate for a continued loan next season!!!!!

To be fair, without that loan policy we'd have no left back, no right back and attacking midfielder (Dossena, Celutska and Ki)

Without which we'd be well and truly screwed. So I for one am grateful to the loan system as it's got us out the woods, yet again.

Yep. Just hope next year we're sorted and don't need to use the loan market (unless it's with an option to buy)

Celustka looks very good so far so hopefully he keeps it up and we pay the agreed fee

Wage bill will be significantly lower next season once contracts expire etc. So we should be able to get more permanent players in

I like Ki, of course he hasn't played for us yet but I think he'll be worth buying in the summer. Laudrup doesn't fancy him so it shouldn't be too hard, especially as Ki will only have 1 year left on his contract

We can all live in hope mate, but with contracts expiring (unless Larsson and Gards will take pay cuts) we've got a lot of work on the transfer front so I can imagine the we'll utilise them again next summer.

Paolo inherited an infected squad. Going to take a few seasons until we're loaning out, not loaning in.

Dossena is signed permanently on a year's contract. He's ours, not Napoli's. Having said this, a contract for a year leaves us without a left back come the 1st of July.

I'm fine with that tbh. Short term solution. I wouldn't have been happy had we given a 31 year old a long term contract.

Our lb search needs to start again next summer

I imagine there's an option to extend that contract should he turn out to be a star performer. Either that or we have already made enquiries about another left back for the january transfer window or next summers. Might be worth having a look around to see which left backs fit pdcs type of player and are entering the final year of their contract. One thing is for sure our backroom team aren't stupid and won't pay over the odds for a player they can get for free next year by having a word in their agents ear now.

How long have we been without a propper permanent left back though? Was Micky Gray the last decent one we had (although I guess McCartney was ok in the championship)? You'd think after a year or two of not signing one, we'd have packed the accademy with decent prospects. Was this done, and they've just failed to progress, or is the academy as short on left backs as the first team?
