<peacedove>Since the inception of the premiership I think this season is going to be the most competitive one.
    Thinking of :
    1.Manchester United.
    2.Manchester City
    3.Chelsea.
    4.Arsenal.
    5.Tottenham
    6.Liverpool.
I should have added Everton but the sale of Marouane Fellaini is not going to be helpful to them.
Spurs have now entered the league of big spenders helped by the sale of Gareth Bale.Certainly any of the above clubs that finished outside the top four is going to be disappointed.
It is going to be a long season.

On paper, I think any of the top 6 can finish 5/6th.

Things don't always work out for teams who look good on paper, so there might be the exception that one or two of these teams don't do as well as they hope. I just hope it's not us for once. <ok>

I think its hard to gel in a lot of new players, ask Pelligrini!

Palace signed 15 players this summer! They did get rid of 10 though

Its not going swimmingly for Spurs is it? I was reading somewhere that the Spanish media thought it incredible they spent that amount on Soldado, not calling him rubbish but just not that good

They'll miss Bale but have bought decent players, hopefully they wont gel quickly and by then we'll hopefully be a few points ahead of thrm. You'd think our direct competition is Arsenal and Spurs

V Utd we had 2 new players on the field obv Ming and Aspas so that wasnt to bad. I think to come in would be Sakho and Moses (maybe in place of Aspas) so its not a lot for us on the pitch at once <ok>

Though I agree I wouldn't say things are going badly for Spurs. On paper they look a better team, and they won their 2 opening games, and there's no shame in losing to Arsenal at the Emirates.

    I don't know.

I think city will take about a month or two to hit thier stride and so will spurs. Utd don't look like they are going to do much bar defend and play it to rvp.. arsenal have a lot of attackers behind giroud but they need to still defend better than last year and chelsea have an issue up front.

I am sticking with my blog prediction of city, chelsea, utd, spurs in that order.

LFC and arsenal and spurs and even utd might fight it out for a while for 3rd and 4th but we'll have to see.....

Spurs have still won 2 out 3 games, and that's with a very new squad who are still adapting and gelling together.

Personally, I can see them getting stronger.

The more I think about this, the more my head hurts.

Agree with Zingy really, any of those six teams could finish outside the top four. There
are for and against arguments for all concerned.I do think we have as good a chance
as any of the other five to finish in that top four.Things have really been shaken up with
the managerial merry-go-round as well as other factors(transfer window for example)

We should all be really excited with this seasons possibilitys.

I think Liverpool have built a good team. It could perhaps be more potent, but it's solid enough and will get results more often than not.

Arsenal have added a world class player to their side, no question. Still some problems there but they'll be contenders for top 4 at least

Spurs will come good imo, probably after the europa league group stage finishes and they've had time to gel. Similar story with City, who may focus more on getting out of their CL group at first.

United may have had a poor transfer window but they still added some steel to their midfield which will help them in matches similar to the defeat at Liverpool

I think Chelseea still don't have a good enough strikeforce but their midfield is good enough to make them favourites for the league.

I think that there is a little over-confidence that Spurs will sort out their personnel and find a team that can perform on the pitch.. Many good players build their reputations in sides that actually play to their skill set. Put into a different environment they suffer. If you want a clear example look at the number of star players who cannot reproduce their form when playing for their country.

Nobody has yet mentioned the managerial changes at United, Cheslea and City. I strongly doubt that all 3 will get to the end of the season believing that they have had a good season. On the other hand will Wenger actually get another year and what will be the outcome of his leaving.?

You've been hasty leaving us out, as despite the loss of Fellaini, we've finally signed a striker capable of bagging 20 goals, we were only a striker worthy of the name, short of a CL place ourselves last season.

    no chance tobes... no chance.

you'll be happy with your lot but your squad is relatively thin. back 5 is your best aset and barkely looks great but needs time to gain experience which is what this seaosn will be all about.

mccarthy is a decent signing... but you paid a lot for him. I think he's better for you in martinez's system than the donkey you sold.

Lukaku is a good loanee no question....

barry is a waste of your time....

all in all a good final day but i feel you are placing too much on lukaku perosnally... after

Apologies. You appear to have done well in your last minute dealings. Not sure that Lukaku is actually a 20 goal forward but he's got power and pace so given the right service he should do you well. Still think we'll finish above you this season - so I do hope you'll do well 'cause it will mean that we have done even better!

At least it now starts being sorted out on the pitch <ok>

I agree with this (Christ, not again :))
    Well, up to a point.
I thought you'd be stuffed without Bogbrush, but I do like Lukaku and I think he might rescue your season. Whether it'll be enough to keep you in the top six is another matter.

All in all it looks like being a fascinating season.

You're wrong mate, we've strengthened across the squad from front to back

    We've brought in;

Robles - a good keeper capable of challenging Howard
Alacaraz - a good CB who is a decent squad addition
Kone - scored 11 PL goals in a poor side last season
McCarthy - not having him personally, but many really seem to rate him & he's got to be better than the 2013 Osman ffs
Barry - all of the City fans I've seen are sad to see him go, he'll do the 'Lucas' role for us perfectly imo
Lukaku - brilliant signing, a proven PL goalscorer who's an absolute beast, with pace to burn (just ask Carra la :) )
Deulofeu - scored on his debut, is going to be a superstar in the game - without question.

    Added to that;

Stones - who never played a minute under Moyes, but will prove himself to be top drawer this season
& Barkley - who again barely saw the pitch under Moyes, but is already in the England squad under Martinez

    Out's;

    Neville - lol
Hitzlsperger - got about 40 minutes last season
    Anichebe - £6m! <rofl>
Mucha - made Howard look like Dino Zoff ffs
Fellaini - massive loss, gutted he's gone, but a great price

We've definitely got a stronger squad than we finished last season with there.

Not going to make any daft predictions, but once we settle down, we should be a decent oufit.

    I'm not wrong... i'm bantering.

robles... pah not required. howard is good this guy won't be seen
alacarez is average and his prior record hardly inspires.. again distin is old fine replace but this guy... the back 5 needed retaining... no harm with cover but c'mon....
Kone is a donk... you have a better more powerful player you were selling you laughed at him but seriously kone is dirt
mccarthy is right down martinez's street and so is osman so i think they'll link well
Barry is a joke. he's just a slow carthorse who fouls but work away.... if you want to model of a real team and our player fine.
Luaku is a good signing as a loan. you'd never get to buy him but hey.... I think you'll do well with him
Deulofeu is good pity hes in the strikers on FF. i sold him..... he's young and developing so pienaar and meireles will play.

So i think you got 2 first teamers in on the last day, lost felliani.... all in all... nah you are muck.

City and Spurs both have lots of new players and will need time to figure out their best 11 and start to play their best football. Get it figured out quickly and they'll be sorted. We're in a somewhat similar state but Rodgers' ideas are a year further along than both of them so on the pitch it's tighter and better defined.

United have the residual mentality and team from the Fergie era which will serve them well for this season but might start to lose it's potency next time out.

Similar situation at Chelsea where there's still a core of the Mourinho old boys club, even though he's been gone for several years, albeit with a fair few new faces to add some pace and flair.

Arsenal showed good fight and togetherness to beat Tottenham, Ozil adds undoubted quality and flair in the middle but their failure to strengthen elsewhere could come back to haunt them.

Kone scored as many league goals as Sturridge last season....<whistle>

You're showing your total ignorance of the game, by calling Barry a 'joke'. Tell that to Rafa lid.
