Not first 45; being the league cup we can use the excuse that we wouldn't necessarily put out our "first 11" soooo: Put him on second half. See what he does. Looking at the training pics their doesn't seem to be an issue with other players.... I want him on the right though if he's on the same pitch as Sturridge, Sturridge doesn't get shifted about to suit Suarez. I Actually think its better that way, nullifys some of his losing the ball and apparent "miss passing " trying to insure the return ball all the time...
Start him in the bench, comes on for Aspas. This will show how hard Aspas wants to play first team football.
Suarez is good enough to play anywhere across the front line. Sturridge has to play central though, he has that clinical finish. Suarez running in from the flanks causes absolute mayhem, as we've seen so many times. The front three will simply interchange throughout most games, that's Rodgers ideology. And also gives defenders an absolute nightmare as they lose touch on who to pick up. BR's team and ideas are taking shape, and i like it
Completely agree with this. However, I do think it's funny that Toure is a 'new guy' but his place is already apparently locked after two league games. Again, I am not saying it shouldn't be, just saying it's funny that it is.
Those partnerships only work if those players are good with both feet though. Simple question is this. If you had Agger and Toure playing would you play Agger RCB and Toure left? Of course not. Every centre back I've ever seen play has a stronger side. That doesn't mean they can't cope swapping sides but as Rafa said so often "it's about balance". It may well be that Sakho can play either side equally well in which case that's great. Until we've seen evidence of that though I'd have Skrtel (the new whipping boy) as back up for Toure....in fact after such a good performance Sunday I'd say ok Turts the jersey is yours for now. Keep playing like that and force your way back into the team. Competition for places will only ever work if those waiting in the wings know that if they get a chance to play they will be rewarded if they come in and play well. Well Skrts did that.
If there is a problem in midfield I understand Agger can fit in there. Rodgers's problem Wenger would like to have it if Arsenal is at the top of the table.
I think I read somewhere that Rodgers described Sakho as LB or LCB (which is obviously Agger's position). Not sure if this means that Sakho is a direct competition for Agger or it could shift Agger onto the right? ... Or we could just play 3 at the back??
League Cup should be treated as League (well the third round anyway) and we should select the strongest XI and the best for the bench. Obviously we don't see the training sessions, so we really don't know how well Suarez is doing in terms of fitness and sharpness, but I'd have to have him straight back in to sharpen him up for the league. Might give Sturridge the night off to help rest that thigh problem if its still rumbling on then.
