I'm fast loosing interest in our overpaid, underachieving, under performing , lackluster plastic England squad.
What was the excuse this time, what was it postman pat said, oh yeah, they were too tired FFS! He`s also just put in a holiday request for the whole squad, before next years Euros, because they need a rest!<doh>
They want to try working for a living, how many of you guys have a couple of subs waiting to cover your work if you get tired after an hour?
    Rant over

I still think Ferdinand deserves a place. Walcott no chance, he still has no end product. Milner hasn't played well for England in a while but is a good player.
    Parker was awful yesterday too.

Get James Henry in there! Puts in a better cross than Walcott or Lennon! Also think in a few years Townsend will be there or thereabouts, whether he's with us or not.

Totall agree with all of the posts, there should've been a complete clear out after the world cup and start again. Yet we're stuck with that hopeless Italian and players who don't want to wear the shirt.

Even if we do qualify for the Euros. we'll just turn up and not compete. Haven't seen a decent England tournament perofrmance since Japan 2002.

I was in England for the world cup when it was held in Germany. The papers were full of Rooney. Rooney this, Rooney that. Rooney was going to win the world cup for us. I'm still waiting. I'm still waiting for f***king Rooney to do something. Any-f***king-thing.

I wanted us to win of course but I can't get excited or be motivated to watch England as I've had enough of pony performance after another to last me a lifetime but its not just that its the same old bollocks after every failure with the tired excuses <doh> what really ****s me off is the same old **** that the players come out with when being interviewed after another failure in the world cup or euros that "were England fans as well and we will and want to put it right in the next game"

Its nothing but absolute bollocks and we hear it during world cup after world cup and euro after euro, the last England game I watched was the Germany game at the last world and haven't and cant be bothered since. <doh>

The England football team has been ruined by the PL where players are told they are world beaters and paid enough money to not have to deal with anything outside their own pampered lives of mansions and wags. We've been in a rut now for so long i can barely remember the last great England team and I'm nearly 40! But the question is how to change it - do we ditch the old guard? YES! We should have ages ago... do we need more players playing outside England? YES! Our players won't develop technically unless they play with better players and the English PL is short of real top-quality players... take the example of Cesc Fabregas... widely regarded as being one of the best players in the PL but can't even get in the Spanish national team! I could go on, the list is long but...

So, what do we need? More English players developing in Europe, no more players that simply play every game - there are enough players to make every position a battle, and less focus on the CL and even the PL. Now I think we should start by dropping this lot - John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Steve Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon and Theo Walcott and maybe bringing in the likes of Gary Cahill, Phil Jones, Martin Kelly, Fab Muamba, Jay Spearing, Scott Sinclair and Daniel Sturridge.. that'd be a good start.

Just reading through some of the other comments: change a few names, and use 'cricket' instead of 'football' and it still reads OK!
