SAFC supporter here, how good is Borini ?, you paid £10.5 m for him so he must be good. And Simon mignolet is doing a great job for you I see, and the way you beat Man u yesterday was great, plenty of tackles, getting to the ball faster I wish we could play like that!.

He's missed a lot of games through an injury last year, and hasn't had a run of games to show what he can do. In glimpses he's looked promising and BR obviously saw something in him having previously worked with him.

Has decent pace and excellent movement, needs to work on his composure and link up play though. Play him in 30 Prem games and he'll prob get you 8-12 goals?

He's got talent, strikes me very much as a confidence type player. Di Canio has questioned some of your players desire, he won't have to worry about that with Borini that's for sure. His qualities? Movement. Such a clever player, if you utilize him correctly he'll pull defenders out of position all day long and create plenty of space for others, not sure who he'll be playing with, but him and Altidore could form a great partnership. Free-kicks, boy can he strike them! he scored one the other day against Man Utd for the youth team, beautiful strike.

I'd also say finishing, but we've not really seen enough at Anfield, he has a good record for both Roma, Italy and the Chelsea U21's. Injuries really did hinder him last season, but he did look very sharp when he returned, but unfortunately he's gone way down the pecking order here. Good luck, hope you can get the best out of him.

Works hard. Really tries and chases the ball. Been pretty useless otherwise.

I appreciate he gives his all when on the field but don't think he's Prem material.

I hope these words bite me in the butt but fear they won't. Strikers aren't like defenders or midfielders... they usually hit the ground running or not at all.

Hope for your sake you get better use from him.

I think the litmus test will be a run of games. As already stated, the ingredients seem to be there but so far we haven't seen it all come together. Injuries played a big part in that.

Under a bit less pressure I think he'll do alright at you. Whether he could come back to us and carry it on? Well let's see him do well for you first.

I hope so: I like his attitude. He even bust a gut in the reserve game.

  11. Puts a shift in and finds space through great movement, needs to work on touching the ball and staying fit <ok>

I think of him as a more talented but more lightweight version of Dirk Kuyt. Very hard working player with good positional sense.

He was pants generally when available last year - but to be fair he never got fit enough to really go for it. When he came back right at the death of last season he looked good.

He has also scored a few for Italy and they really rate him.

Interested to see how he does but we should have paid only 6-7 and taken a risk on his potential rather than finished product.

I watched a lot when he was at Swansea, he's a talented player and will do well for Sunderland. Good for him to get games and show what he can do.

He's still very highly rated by the Italian U21 set-up and has showed lots of promise everywhere else he's been except Liverpool, where his stint was marred with injury. I think he'll become a good player, he's an intelligent striker with excellent movement. Looking forward to seeing him get a good run of games.

Hope he performs well for you guys in return for Migs and Hendo <ok>

That was probably 4-5mil more than we should have paid. Think BR was swayed by the fact it was the first time he had real money to spend and that he wanted players he knew.
I don't see him as LFC quality, certainly not a starter, but think he could do a job for you lot. And maybe with games he might prove me wrong

I rate him highly after watching him for 8 weeks at the Liberty, when we had him on loan, his movement is terrific, his free kick delivery is like Drogba's and I wish we had, got him on loan. Last season he was played out of position by Rodgers on the wing, and it was the same at Roma, where it all started, which he's not happy with, we played him in his preferred position up front, leading the line, and his game for us at Wembley will always remain with me, and I can only speak highly of him, and wish him well, terrific talent...............<ok>

PS: Wasted at Liverpool of course!...............<laugh>

Bear in mind he was injured for a long spell while at Liverpool.
