Good post. The key point here is that we have a strong squad which can take injuries in most positions. Baird and another CF on loan would finish the job

Certainly 4-5-1 now that Kranjcar has signed. Hoilett and Phillips wide, Austin up top. Kranjcar, Barton and Henry in the middle.

Harry will already know his strongest midfield options, may not see Faurlin again this season

    Where's Carroll

Harry has a headache, keeping them all happy. I assume Hoillett and Phillips will play 45 min each, just to hype up the pressure...Total Football the Rangers way exciting

Harry has always had cover for every position. Known of having two strong 11's at Spurs. I like the way he work.

Philips is not a problem, he slots on for SWP ASAP.

I hope we will play a 4231 with Krancjar/Carroll in the middle of the 3, surely we can only play 442 for the last 20 when chasing the game.

Exactly my team but Id change Faurlin for Carroll as i believe Carroll is too attacking for that role.
Id also go with 2 D 2 M and 2 S on the bench so put in Yun and (gulp) Zamora for Henry and Jenas

Why the hell couldn't we have a team like this for last 2 seasons we would have held our own

Hopefully we pick up a striker on loan and we won't need Zamora on the bench.

If we play 3 CMs, I still see Henry playing in front of the back 4.

If we play 4231 then it will only be 2, Krancjar will be playing close to austin/AJ

When Adel played behind the striker, Derry was there to do the dirty work.

I know you're not a fan (to say the least!) but still need someone to break up the play.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the next line-up either way.
