No details yet released but Sauber are expected to confirm a renewal of engine deal with Ferrari at Monza. Would be ideal if the rumours are true and Ferrari will let Sirotkin use the simulator but who knows. As an aside... the dream reunion of Sauber-Mercedes still eludes us.
That quote from Domenicali ("my favourite choice would be, of course, to keep Felipe") says a lot about who really makes the decisions at Maranello. The last we heard from Luca was "we were very clear with him: both he and us need results and points. Then, at some point, we will look one another in the eye and decide what to do."
According to La Stampa, Raikkonen is the favourite to replace Massa, and Button is also an alternative (dark horse?). An announcement is expected by/at Singapore. please log in to view this image
I think it would be a huge slap in the face for Alonso to bring back the man they paid off early to get Alonso in the first place! It would effectively be Ferrari's admission that they made a mistake in 'sacking' Kimi as after 4 years his replacement hasn't won a WDC. Kimi won in 2007 in a car which most say was 2nd best to the McLaren's.
Congtratulations to James Calado, Force India's new reserve driver! No doubt N.Todt's influence played a big role in getting Calado the YDT opportunity, but it was Calado who then proved himself and earned the position of reserve driver. Also nice to see Force India signing someone with talent rather than a pay driver.
I don't see Calado as anything special, he's just another overhyped Brit. I can see him being the next di Resta.
Not surprising, and despite my reservations about how good he is, I am all for giving young drivers a chance! Would love to see Hulk/Bianchi in that second Ferrari
So Kimi must surely be going to Ferrari now! He must consider Alonso an easier driver to go up against than Vettel... *giggles* (Or am I?)
