Following the signing of Benoit Assou-Ekotto, will Clint still be captain? I think Onouha and Dunne are probably our best centre back pairing and this will mean Hill won't start every game. Can a team have a captain that's not playing? If this is the case I would say hand it to Onouha, but he's not a natural leader.

I still prefer Ned as RB. Clint should play most games and will stay Captain I reckon.

I think you're in a minority of one preferring Ned at RB mate!!

Hill should and will remain as captain. He's the leader of the squad and on current form has shown no reason to be dropped. Even if he does get replaced at LB by Assou-Ekotto then I would expect him to beat out Dunne for the other CB role along Ned.

I love Hill to bits but please don't compare him to Dunne. Miles apart in relation to quality and experience

Hill will still be team captain with Dunne as stand in. One of them will play each week I'm sure.

    Thats putting it mildly!

It has to be Onuoha or whoever is playing out of Dunne/Hill

I think this is spot on. Both Hill and Dunne will get plenty of games and even Ned needs an occasional rest

Whatever! He has the speed and strength of a natural back, and he' s better there than Simpson. He seems tactically unaware at CB, I'd like a more clever quick CB beside Caption Clint.

you are joking right, he has been immense since switching to CB, at RB he is a lost soul.

Onuha has been immense this season, bailed clint out quite a few times. Clint will only be back up now, Onuha first on the team sheet.

Oslo, I have to say that imho it is the COMPLETE opposite. Ned should never play right back and he is not better than Simpson there. From up high in SAR I have watched practically every game he played at RB at LR and I have watched, time and time again, as he came out of defence with the ball and then directly in front of me, he would stop, look up, panic and either make a woeful pass or lose posession. He cant attack down the line, he is not a wing back, he needs the space in the middle of the park.

In the CB position he has been solid and has great potential to make it his permanent position for the next couple of years.

Onouha as Captain would be a horrible decision

He's in the form of his life at CB, allow him to keep concentrating on his football. He doesn't need the Captaincy burden. He's a quiet lad anyhow.

Hill will still be Captain, Agree that Dunne should be the vice skipper

Onuoha definitely better at centre back imo too. I was saying last Jan that Samba was a needless signing when we had Ned already who is just as good (if not better) at centre back. Onuoha is a good defender when playing RB but offers very little going forward, Simpson is better in that regard.

As for Captain, echo what's been said - keep Hill as club captain, Dunne as captain when Hill isn't playing. Dunne could still do with shifting a few lbs though.
