According to QPR Transfer News he is in London and is keen to come ( excuse the pun). He is coming if Adebeyor doesn't.
A big NO from me too. Don't get me wrong, I really liked him about 10years ago and I even named a dog after him when he scored in the play off to get us to the WC in Japan/Korea but as soon as he left Spurs to play in the States, he was finished. That must have been 3 years ago now. Harry, are we this DESPERATE to get a striker???
Good God no. We've been linked with him now for the last three years. I'm waiting for the obligatory NUTS "sign him up cos he's Irish" post.
My God, Transfer Deadline Day is like a........ please log in to view this image ........but in our case, more like an an Old Timers Ball. Debutante is the English form of the French débutante, meaning âfemale beginner.â Typically, a debutante is a young lady from the upper echelons of society who is ready to make her debut upon the social scene. In its beginnings, it was intended to introduce a young woman of marrying age to a group of well-placed and regarded bachelors and their families. There is a process to being introduced as a debutante, however, one cannot just reach a particular age and be introduced to particular social circles. Often, they are recommended by a committee or sponsored by a well-known, respected member of the societal class. A young womanâs debut will be honored by throwing a âdebutante ball.â Though the original intent of debutante balls was to introduce young ladies to polite society, they have evolved into charity events. The parents of the debutante donate to their particular cause and those invited have to pay for their admission. These balls can be very elaborate and take on almost a wedding-like quality, with white gowns, satin gloves, pearls, flowers, pages, and escorts all part of the occasion. Most young women nowadays will never have a debutante ball. Held biannually at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City, the International Debutante Ball has largely become a whoâs who of the upper class, with daughters of US Presidents, European royalty, US Governors, and Diplomats receiving invitations.
I read an article the other day about Keane and how happy he was in the US and how he was still enjoying his football. His family are settled there and he indicated that he would finish his career there. IMO this story is rubbish. However, would I take Robbie Keane on a six or twelve month PAYP deal. Absolutely. He would be much much better (even at 33) than anything we have and I'll explain why. Keane is the all time top Irish international scorer with over 50 goals, many scored in world cups and Euro Champs. His goal to game ratio in the Prem was also impressive and he has consistently played at a high level. He doesn't rely on his pace, why? cause he never had any. He is an extremely clever player who can be a fox in the box type of player or as an additional creative midfielder in a five man Midfield. Is he good enough to still play in the Prem? Yea I think so. Is he good enough to play in the Champ? Beyond any doubt. If he was available, I'd bet my mortgage that far bigger teams than us would be in for him. Before Flyer has his usual hearth attack, I'd like to point out this. I would not sign him on anything other than a six or twelve month PAYP contract as anything other than that would be crazy. But on a PAYP contract he would IMHO be a very clever bit of business. His injury record is pretty good and he still has hopes of making the Irish Squad for next year. He's a bit like Dunne in that he gives 110% every game and would be great playing off Austin. Many people are openly worried that we will loose AJ to Palace yet would refuse Keane. AJ is not fit to lace Keane's boots under any criteria. It's not an Irish thing at all. It's recognising that we need to think outside the box to add creativity to our team and Keane would be a superb acquisition if the contract criteria were suitable to us
QPR Confirm Keane Signing "It's a fantastic oppurtunity for me - QPR are a club I've dreamed about playing for since I was a boy. 'Arry's a great manager and I'm sure he'll get me firing again - I'd love to play in the premier league again in the future. source expand Share Enable cookies
